This is so random, but I feel like it’s SO much easier to see the quality and texture on darker skin- I think studio lights blow out white people’s skin way too much, and I can barely see the details of products. I didn’t realize that til now. I’m extra excited to sponge up some wisdom from my brown sisters now. And besides that, awesome content in general. This was really helpful. Deciding on products can feel so overwhelming!

I’ve been obsessed with this powder since I got it! I feel like it gives you such a luminous and smooth finish. I’m almost 41 and it doesn’t cling to fine lines or dry patches. I don’t dare bake at my age and with combo dry skin so I can’t speak on that. I just a brush similar to the smaller end of the brush you showed and lightly brush it under the eyes and on other areas that I conceal with. I’m in love with it!!

I only just attempted baking with an appropriate powder recently, thinking for sure at my age with dryer thin skin it would make my under eye area look crepey & enhance my fine lines - and my under eye area has never looked smoother or more flawless! Even 12hrs later my concealer hadn't started creasing and I didn't need to touch up anything, which never happens. I recommend give baking a go! 😁

Hourglass in general i feel like isnt targeted to oily skin gals. All of their other powders (including brozer and blush) have a luminous finish. Their primer is hydrating. Their foundation is a dewy/satin finish in a stick formula. Their lipsticks are all very creamy. I dont think this is the best marketing tactic in general but they also market to older audiences who often need more hydration.

When I first started doing makeup I had a hard time finding a setting powder because of all dis melanin and I was so against spending the $38 on the Laura mercier powder. I refused to spend $38 on POWDER. after all my trials and tribulations I gave into auntie Laura and now I have both the medium deep and the translucent lol
