If there's one thing I've learned from watching Mike Holmes on HGTV is to make sure when you paint your exterior brick to choose a paint that is breathable or a white opaque brick stain otherwise your brick will rot over time, though with interior brick can be painted with whatever.

I love the brick exterior! Personally, I wouldn't paint it -- I think the brick looks classy, plus once you paint brick, you now have to keep on painting it. The interior could definitely use some updated paint colors. The pool area is fantastic! Gorgeous house!

I’ve heard that bricks need to breathe and painting them stops that. I know heaps of KZbin people do it though. Problem is you never see the houses a few years later.

Invest in some good air cleaners and air conditioner filters to deal with the construction dust. Change those filters often as long as you are doing demo. This made such a difference when we remodeled a master bath and kitchen.

Instead of painting the brick, look into staining it. The stain penetrates and does not flake off over time. 🙃

Oh my word, the 70’s & 80’s hit that house well! LOVE your ideas of remodelling! Make sure the main bathroom has bathroom paint on the walls and ceiling! We moved into our house, which was completely remodelled before going on the market only to find we needed to repaint the bathrooms! Ugh. They also laid the gorgeous tile floor straight on top of linoleum 🤦‍♀️. My husband is a contractor and my Da taught me all about plumbing, electricity, moving vents, walls, concrete….our kids are grown and on their own so it was simple to bang out our projects. Looks amazing Cambriea you did good on your house choice it has lots and lots of potential. I would nix the glass door in the master and put in sliders from the get go. Will give you lots of light and an awesome view of the pool and save on having to to another reno on the room and with the way costs are escalating save you and Bobby time and money in the long run.

Wow! So much potential. I must applaud you guys for knowing what you wanna do with the home right off. Sad to say, when I 1st moved into my home, I had NO idea what I wanted to do with it for the longest time. Took me soooo long to even upgrade the kitchen floors and change the paint! LOL. You guys walked IN with ideas immediately. Wow. Also, thats way more house than it initially looks. More rooms than I thought it would have. Most people with pools as part of their homes not only do NOT have a sunroom next to it but DEFINITELY do not have the pool already glass encased so I was actually thrilled to see that! Outdoor feel but indoor safety. I am glad we get to go along w/you on the journey to see the changes you guys make!
