As a builder, it will take me a while to fet used to their graphics style. I only ever build with vanilla minecraf textures as it is what most players (and everyone) can see. But I am excited 😂. To be honest it will also take a while to not go for straits instead of roofs... I think my favorites could be a scify-old Japanese mix for the Mars looking terrain. Instead of Sakuras we would get blue trees!

They've been very careful about not over hyping - they quell shouts of "It's minecraft 2!" It's important to understand that they are an indie studio, and this isn't a triple A game, but with that comes a bit more trust. You can tell that this is a passion project, and I'm very sure that they'll work on updating and improving the game long after launch.

I wonder if when you create your character you could modify the size and it give modifiers to your play style, like say if you made yourself all around larger your movement speed would be lower but you would hit harder in downward swings and have more health but have a larger hit box, and the inverse for making yourself smaller and with being smaller you can jump higher. Another would be that, depending on how broad you are, certain tasks like chopping wood would be faster for broad shoulders and smithing would be slower with skinny arms or you could have your arms grow as you train or put skill points into a skill tree and have that as a toggleable option, there are so many possibilities with this game, I would say infinite or as wide as people's imagination. I can't wait for this game to come out.

holycrap heightmaps , you can use googlemaps too to get hieghtmaps , so does this mean we are easily able to make the earth terrain genaration in hytale , there is also a way to get mars heightmap . if you don't know what height maps are , there basically maps of data that includes the height of the terrain that most game developers use to make their terrain in their games

I think they said they want the game to have a minimum of 8 year life span (as in support and new content) so I think they'll keep updating with new things every now and then, probably most of the stuff will be for the story mode, but it'll be interesting to see what else they can come up with!

Hytale is already more realistic and immersive than minecraft wished it could be; so I really hope they don't do the exact same river generation procedure as MC, randomly placed and stagnant and glorifiedly long ponds that don't even follow elevation. All they gotta do is make them extend outward (and down) from the center of any given higher elevation, there's mods for this in MC!!

One thing I'm wondering about is how they will update this game when it is released. Since this is a story mode, how would it work? You couldn't just rewrite the entire story. If you think you know, please tell me.

The story is just that a story after the story you can go beyond the main 'island?' and explore the random generated terrain. So if they update the game like minecraft and add in new blocks with new functions it woudn't hurt the story too much. I even think and hope you can skip the story and just play it as an sandbox.

Hytale's developers aren't like that, they'll independently sell the game on their own website and make a custom launcher for it. The chances of the game being on Riot's or any other website like Steam is extremely rare since the game and the developers are independent.

they better step up their generation system, this kind of "wavy" landscapes are very boring for exploration and building, compared to minecraft, which uses more satured generation with smaller hills, constant elevation changes, sometimes even floating islands and sometimes random flat areas out of nowhere. This so far doesn't look like exciting world generation I would spend tons of hours exploring when I know that the next hill/elevation/part of the map will go slowly down in next 50 blocks ahead, you get my point. I hope they get it right in the beta/release.

I don't think they're aiming for the radical generation MC goes for - with the potential for floating landmarks and mountains with nonsensical physics. I think Hytale being more RPG will be grounded in a tad more realism. That's not to say that modders will be able to enhance everything using Config files to be similar to MC though! :) Thanks for watching the video!
