On February 10th, 2023, Tatiana Krivobokova (European Union Politics Student Research Committee) discussed the dynamics of women-led massive pro-democratic rallies in the Republic of Belarus after the proclaimed landslide victory of the incumbent president, the "strongman" Aliaksandr Lukashenka, at the presidential elections in August 2020. Female opposition was using creative grassroots visuals, folkloric discourses, and other artistic expressions that protesters applied to oppose patriarchal iconography of the authorities. This research is not limited to the speeches of opposition figures, but also delves into the imagery and new cultural artifacts that women were implementing at peaceful marches and in everyday quiet revolts.
