Really excited for this movie! The still images we have seen so far look great, the colours look far more muted and the lighting looks much more natural than the previous Jurassic World which always looked too bright and colourful, almost like an animated movie. This looks much closer to the original Jurassic Park in terms of grounded, realistic images.

I know dinosaurs of air probably means pterosaurs but my heart is holding out hope for Argentavis or Haast's Eagle. Unrealistic? Perhaps! But the original Jurassic Park WAS actually very accurate for its time, so a return to that + the popularity of feathered dinosaurs in JWE2 could mean that they include birds in their return to their roots.

8:32 how’s a retcon though? They could probably justify them dying out because of them getting poached and hunted and sold to the black markets. Also, they can still justify the deaths because of some illness that started spreading across them. Besides, we saw so little of dinosaurs living around the world in Dominion, that they apart from the stupid "coexist" dialogue by Charlotte Lockwood, we didn’t get to know if those dinosaurs actually got to coexist with other species and with humans.

just because something can be explained, doesn't mean it's not a retcon. Dominion establishes that dinosaurs are thriving. Backtracking that after an arbitrary time-skip, very much meets the textbook definition of a retcon. Not all retcons are "hey how did that lagoon get THERE?" ;)

1. I will hold a grudge against them until the day I die for retconning "lol they just didn't survive on Earth after all, whoops!". What an absolute WASTE of potential real horror films. 2. I find it very hard to believe the core story of this movie. "We need the DNA of these three gigantic creatures in order to create a life-saving drug for humanity. You think sending, like... 6 people is enough?". How is that engaging or believable? lol It clearly sets up the corporation to be the villain, whether Martin Krebs knows about it (and is also a villain) or not. 3. Can't wait to watch the family in this movie run away from 65 million year old apex predators with full plot armor (as usual) taking away all sense of fear and urgency.

I'm 100% with you on the first point. The whole point of dinosaurs on the mainland and workd overall was the endgame consequence of reviving prehistoric life, "we made them, now we have to live with them". That's what the next films, shows, or any other story in this universe should be about, humans having to deal with these creatures in everyday life. So thw whole "oh, they aren't doing so well and only live in the tropics now" feels like a major slap in the face to the audience and the series.

Less blue screen doesn’t mean they’ll use animatronics though. It means that they shot on location for most of the film, although considering the bts photos coming from the set, they did use lots of blue screens actually 😅 Anyways, we do know this movie will mostly feature CGI dinosaurs, apart from a little animatronic, but that should be it.
