The ability to build out the platform to a specificity and wrap it in ghillie/cloth would be a good start for them.

@@TheWarriors1515I can’t remember if it was SOCOM II or III but one of those I played way too much. They could make it so much better with todays tech. I still find myself playing Ghost Recon once and awhile every other month now with some friends. Even though these last 2 were a far departure from those ps2/Xbox era Ghost Recon and SOCOM games. But there isn’t too many team based tactical shooters on console. More on PC, but most don’t get enough work put in. Not to plug another channel but as it relates and I’m NOT affiliated with them: GLIDgaming showcases and plays a lot of those games with former military and police, tactically.

Ammo scarcity and variety would add another layer of depth to choosing which weapons to use. "Oh sure the p90 has low recoil, decent range and accuracy from the bullpup design, high rate of fire, good handling because it's lightweight, but good luck finding any ammunition once you're out and have fun changing mags." Would be a much better drawback than whatever balancing they tried to do with half these guns. Like sorry, some guns are superior than other guns in almost every category, but they all have real-world drawbacks that would be fun to see implemented.

@@Shademastermcc I would love this. We'd realise why militaries use stuff they use. Similarly you could use the bleeding edge stuff sure, but is it reliable? How easy is it to maintain in the field. Why militaries use 9mm over .50AE or .500SW hand howitzers.

@@Shademastermcc while i think that would be good for scavenger games like Tarkov or Fallout, or tactical sims like Arma. Ubisoft has to find a balance between casual fun and tactical gameplay. Ubisoft generally wants players to play how they want to. And if that means they want to use rare ammo like 4.6mm in a MP7, 7.62x54mmR in a Dragunov, or .408 in a Cheytac Intervention, they have the freedom to use any weapon they want.

A little off topic but since i have been replaying GR wildlands i think the cartel setting works so well when compared to some wolves and drones and all them automatic tanks. You go about the world in wildlands and you actually come across the work of cartel and unidad instead of reading about it in some chat log. And in that mission when we go to extract a jounalist that is writing for cartel and then he is found 'decorated' on the wall. All that felt closer to actual problems instead of a tropical island in middle of fuck all, overun by drones. Imagine being dropped in Afghanistan after the US pullout or in syria where a civil war is going on and at the same time all major global powers are fighting proxy wars. Or maybe in Myanmar after military takeover.

A good way they could do the next Ghost Recon game is you're an ex Ghost who knew too much and the United States government has soldiers, SOF, cops, and so on, on the hunt for you and have maybe even branded you a terrorist to the public, coincidentally, due to some civil unrest reason, take your pick, martial law has been set in place and so people aren't all going to run snitching on you. This personally seems like it would be pretty awesome, some behind enemy lines/survival elements that never got really implemented right in Breakpoint, but the vastness and geographical diversity of Wildlands, various types of enemies with different levels of skill, equipment and different behaviors, from beat cops carrying pistols and wearing light armor who aren't the best equipped to handle you, to SEALs and even other Ghosts who are very much a threat and won't do stupid typical video game AI stuff.

Then again, as Ukraine shows us the drones are the future of war and are a huge force multiplier. We got a glimpse of this in Future Soldier with the robot and in Wildlands with the drones. Breakpoint hammers it home the best. Problem is that there are too many human soldiers. I've got a killcount at over 10k of humans. That's way too much.

Yes but if that's the future then we need to go back to a more grounded experience for a Ghost Recon game. I understand that's the direction the most militaries are going but that doesn't make for a fun video game

@jaanikaapa6925
@jaanikaapa6925 Жыл бұрын
@@ASQDGAMING The thing is that what type the enemy is or isn't is what makes a storydriven military game like GR fun or interesting. It's the story, the area it is set in, the world building. As for the story: it was an interesting idea and great implementation of a neo-capitalist tech-libertarian utopia, that was actually a dystopia (compare to Cyberpunk 2077). Story was very well built out and thought out mostly, the political ramifications, the insane balance of the militaries and drones. US military was struck out in seconds against more modern and capable hivemind. In this point going low tech was the solution. However, storywise we also suffered from hurried production, game-as-a-service mentality and scrubbed game, due to bad press. We never saw the game's true ending: how Nomad got off the island and the true fall of the PMC, the political ramifications of its backers in U government. This left a really bad taste. With GR we see a steady move towards the close future of warfare. We start slightly ahead in the first one (OICW systems), then in Advanced we see more Future Warfighter stuff like the augmented reality stuff. The soldier's HUD. Then in Future Soldier we see what a truly networked battlefield and limited AI can do. A squad of four can take on a much larger military. In Wildlands we are very much grounded, while still using futuristic gear. We act as a Green Beret A-Team. The rebel side missions are trying to simulate the training and amassing of guerilla forces. Breakpoint does try to touch this with the Exiles. You secure the leaders and trainers for the Exiles, but do not do the training for yourself. I could easily see an insurgent story in the next GR. Your team uses US tech, to a degree, and the insurgents you raise use more commercial stuff and things raided from the tyrannical forces to aid them in the fight. Later on when things go toilet for the baddies, we start to see them utilize more drones and robots due to their manpower being depleted and logistics being destroyed. Similarly we could see the GRs being third party in a war between two parties (ala FS) and use their tech and skills to manipulate the battlefield for US wants. Breakpoint was a demonstration of what drone warfare and tech-libertarian world could and would be. Just like their Watchdogs franchise has been speaking against. Next game could be a demonstration of this warfare in a real-world setting. If you take a step back and look closely, a lot of Ubi's games are a political and sociological commentaries on the present world. Like all good science fiction, they find the problems and possible fixes for problems right around the corner. Breakpoints Breakpoint AI, for example, is a direct negation of the Bellweather algorithm from WD1. But like any such system, it can be used to manipulate the world, like BW. I for one love the direction of these games. Granted, there's a lot of things to modify, change, cut and add, but all in all looking as a whole they are great. I still do miss my ammo loadouts at the gunsmith. FMJ, API, exacto... Etc.

One thing they can do to balance being able to have multiple attachments in 1 category (i.e. A flashlight and peq15), they can increase how fast your character can get fatigue (they can expand on the fatigue system they currently have). How they can expand on the Fatigue is that not only do you get tired as you sprint. But it also takes into account your overall gear. So... if your ghost is kitted out, he/she will get fatigued really quickly and you'll have to hydrate/eat. If your ghost has a minimalist/QRF type loadout, your character can stay out more often.

Even if it’s not as in depth as Tarkov’s gunsmith, I think that going a bit further in depth would massively improve things. For example, being able to place a foregrip close to the mag well, mid way down the barrel, and far down and close to the muzzle would have differing effects upon performance. There’d be a base level effect(s) that a foregrip would add, then additional positive and negative effects based upon placement on the underbarrel. Close to the mag well would increase barrel sway but be less taxing upon dexterity, far down the barrel would reduce barrel sway and make for more precise shots but greatly increase fatigue, midway upon the barrel would yield effects somewhere in between the other two. Overall weapon weight should play a bigger role, as well. If you’re running a 7.62 setup kitted out with tons attachments means you’re not only carrying a lot of weight around (ounces equals pounds, pounds equals pain, etc), but actually presenting that weapon and continuously firing it will have a more taxing effect upon your character. Weight should play a bigger role, in general, and should play a major role in missions. Lots of gear equals lots of weight. Planning out missions (recon, back to base to plan everything out and determine the overall plan and loadouts, infil, execution, exfil, etc) carefully beforehand should be a major event, with less hand-holding and be more left into the hands of the player.

For customisation purposes, allowing players to use a standard stencils and be able to spray paint using multiple colors palette. Creating something unique and specific for players special purpose. Allowing color editing of every part on the rifle/pistol. Currently in Breakpoint, certain suppressors aren't allowed to be painted. So they stay in grey metal patterns.

One thing the new ghost recon needs is a new movement system, When your in the military you move quick and steadily, with your weapon up with decent accuracy. Or you move slowly, in breakpoint you only have the option to move slowly. Room clearing is impossible when moving this slow in CQC, and not to mention when your weapon is in a low ready position the character wobbles so much side to side. There seems to be no stability whatsoever. The movement needs an overhaul to compete with other arcade and tac shooters.

I hope the next Ghost Recon game implements the NGSW Weapons (this would include the new weapons being developed by FN for SOCOM). Great inclusion of pointing out Ground Branches Weapon Customization, played it before it’s its very realistic. I think my issue with the Ghost Recon Breakpoints Gunsmith is that it felt like they had no understanding of how a Picatinny rail worked (ie if the accessory can be mounted to picatinny then it mounts to picatinny, not oh this one red dot can be put on a G36 but not an AR style platform weapon). Or how Walkers Rifle couldn’t mount the MAWL-C but the tactical variant could, or the lack of Iron Sights for it.

I agree that what we had in GR:FS was the correct Gunsmith system with respect to adding the different options that adjusts the performance of the weapons to our liking. The key thing that must be pushed is that we need the next GR game (if open world) to be a thriving sandbox similar to Wildlands, but that the missions we undertake are extremely dangerous and requires stealthy infiltration because the game should ship with a hardcore mode as default (push the wounding mechanic even higher based around body armor and impact points with headshots being Game Over). The GTA type of shit should have consequences and when we enter a mission area players should be overwhelmed if a base is alerted and they decide to shoot it out, instead of break contact. They need to put the RECON back in GHOST RECON. The Gunsmith is dependent on the gameplay and Breakpoint was made to be less GTA than Wildlands, but it was still a looter shooter with gear and weapon stats. We don't need weapon stats or levels. We only need to know how the components will affect weapon performance and how it fits the type of mission we go on. The Gunsmith has to make sense, so the game must be designed to force players to take into consideration their gear and equipment for whatever mission they take. That means we need complex missions where we outfit our whole squad and that we are able to give orders to our NPC teammates to carry out actions that would be an enhanced version of RB6: Vegas squad commands. The Gunsmith is only good if it fits the design of the game itself. The version in GR:FS is better suited for missions where the player has to take into consideration how they plan to assault or infiltrate.

Been looking for a game with weapon customization comparable to Tarkov which I love except if you don't know where you are or what you are doing its nearly impossible to figure out and if you are a slower pace player it takes forever to level up high enough to use the weapon customization and most likely you won't get it unlocked before the super-fast paced players start getting super sweaty and ruin the game. Is ghost recon breakpoint worth buying or should I wait for the next one to come out? I'm a real-life gun geek I love building AR15's from ground up in different calibers and researching ballistic trajectories (my wife is not a fan of the money I spend) will I see this type of customization in recon?

I think a combination of both the recent Modern Warfare games Gunbench systems would be a good way to move forward. MW2019 had the attachments that changed the way a gun worked, while MW2022 has more attachments overall to experiment with in a build. Also implementing the Ground Branch attachment placement system would be great. Ground Branch being created by old Ghost Recon devs and being a spiritual Ghost Recon title, it would make sense to to take some ideas from it. The gear load would also be a great feature for Ghost Recon. Choose where to place your mag pouches, grenades, and other equipment, right on on to your belt, vest, and backpack. Let character customisation be more than cosmetic and actually play into mission planning.

I think we should be able to attach things in different ways, for example taping on a flashlight in the field, or even fabricate suppressors from oil filters and such, also in the field. And like others are saying being able to wrap cloth or ghillie netting around parts of the gun, and me personally, wrapping grips in various materials, more as a visual thing than anything. Electrical tape, bandages, skater tape, you name it

I'd say it was one of the worst ghost recon games. Too railroady, overly linear, no squad commands, regenerating health, overly fast paced playstyle, on top of other things. It did bring a decent amount of cool ideas like the optical camo, gunsmith and whatnot, but I just think it strayed too far from what made Ghost Recon... Ghost Recon, more like a third person cod.

@@alexvolesky I agree that is was a whole different game compared to the other GR, even if it was linear I still looked amazing. Even the Bodark looked cooler in that game than in Breakpoint and were way more threatening and actually bring in the hurt on you if you weren't too careful. Plus that one mission with the Warhound, that was an impressive mission.

What we need. LPVOs on all assault rifles. PEQ15s on top or side rail by choice, not optic. Also a variety of suppressor choices. Not just one and a bunch of other geometrically painted ones. Also foregrip placement. Also don't make the belt HAVE to be the same color as the clothes. Let us choose camo combination on equipment.

I'm with you, except for the gas system. Feels gimmicky and just weird. However some guns have adjustable gas settings, then let those have that in game as well, sure. But it doesn't make sense as a customizable thing for all guns and being able to customize it more than just switch settings I'd say. I would prefer a system where different types of ammo and attachments interact with each other in a realistic way instead. Both suppressors, muzzle brakes and flash hiders etc. So for example. Add a suppressor to your gun will increase the cyclic rate and recoil due to the system being overgassed. However, if said gun happen to have gas settings, then ofc let it have that in the game. If it doesn't, then tough luck. Also, this makes it possible to have say regular ammo, magnum and subsonic. All interacting with the suppressors or other attachments as well as affecting your report and effective range etc. So let's say you run a suppressor with magnum ammo. Will have a lot of recoil and a very very high cyclic rate. Also a loud crack as the bullet breaks the sound barrier. So it will still alert enemies, they just don't know where you are. But missed shots and being too close in general they will be alerted and go for cover etc at least. Standard ammo is the same but toned down, alert range is lowered, slightly lower range and cyclic rate... ...and then the subsonics enter the scene. They should make the report from your gun very quiet, no crack to alert an enemy camp that shots are being fired etc. And in case you say miss a target they'll basically be none the wiser that a bullet use flew right past them, kind of at least. But your range is naturally limited and the cyclic rate way lower. Changing caliber on guns could also be a cool thing together with above mentioned more realistic ammo types and ammo interaction with attachments.

Where do you guys draw the line for realism? I was watching gmoney's video yesterday about ballistics and had that thought. I'll mostly focus on the gunsmith sytem might work to stay on topic. Would you guys want a MK18 thats got all the stuff you want on it to be as slow as a naked M16 for instance? Would you want a minute of angle mechanic (basically bullet deviation)? This is anecdotal, but I recently removed my quad rails for car 15 style handguards and I shaved about a pound off. I don't notice that I'm any faster getting on target, but its definitely handier. How this would translate to gameplay is having a lighter gun would increase your aim sensitivity, which I would think would be annoying. To Ace's point, mounting red dots out further could reduce ads time. There's pictures of green berets mounting their EOTech out on the handguard. At least with my prism sight, this wouldn't work for most magnified optics How would you guys balance this stuff? Weight vs stamina? Having an overall weight limit? Just being able to put everything on the gun, and only getting the benefits (its mostly PvE at this point after all)?

I think with expansive customization of weapons, it would be hard to maintain some sort of realistic balance for weapons in the game. 1. We do not need a weapon progression system. We need all weapon and attachments unlocked so we can focus on gameplay. I have 500+hrs in Arma since I started last year, and having 300+ weapons and attachments is great - I can focus on having fun doing missions. 2. There's no need for a detailed gunsmith if the game design doesn't demand the player to be tactical. Wildlands and Breakpoint is not a tactically demanding game. They're just a military GTA game. The gameplay in Arma forces me to rethink the weapon attachments and weapon type in order to be successful. That's what an actual tactical game does. And its quite embarrassing asking for these detailed requests when you're sneaking around the whole base, killing hostiles with headshots up to 5 feet. What's tactically challenging about that? You have a 1k hours in Day Z, you know what I'm talking about ASQD.

Here's an idea that would probably be too good to come true. For weapon customization, namely camos, you could try to implement a rattle can system allowing players to paint their guns and all the parts however they want. Devs provide a set roster of different colours and shades and you can rattle can your guns as you see fit! I think thats a truly next-gen idea imo.

They just need to keep the gameplay from Breakpoint.. Add some more to the gunsmith , get rid of the drones and the extra classes . Add more urban terrain like Wildlands and then add tactical gameplay experience indoors like Rainbow 6 Vegas 2 had. The next game should have the same recon experience Breakpoint and Wildlands had but they should add more to the indoor structures. They need to add doors and AI on the other side of those doors. Enemies shouldn't all run out when shots are heard. Some should remain indoors and tactically move hostages or intel around etc. When we approach the building after clearing out snipers and other enemies, there should still be others inside shooting from windows and using tactical advantages forcing us to use cover fire or even shields to get closer to the building and plan a breach of the structure. We should be able to repel up and down from rooftops like RB6 Vegas 2 as well. After the surrounding area of the base is cleared, we should still have to do recon indoors or use intel gathered from other missions to know the whereabouts of the hostages, HVTs or intel etc. With a game like Doorkickers2 out on Steam now, I imagine the next Ghost Recon to be a combination of Wildlands/Breakpoint/Rb6Vegas2/Doorkickers2 because the indoor experience should be more advanced at this point. Clear the outside of the base, move in and clear out the inside then extract objectives etc.

Depending on the story of the next GR, at a minimum there should be a base set of US military weapons available with full customizable options. Considering the Ghost are the “elite” special operations, they should have at least basic weapons and accessories at the start. Progression is a good idea, but let it unlock foreign weapons, foreign camo, foreign accessories so that the flow makes sense. As far as customization, having multiple rail attachments is a must, as well as gassing, I’d even add ballistics in ammunition especially for long range weapons.
