Adding some pepper or Chilli flakes and grated Cheese+ side of Garlic Bread is easy and still makes it a cheap,convenient meal. 🙂

Heat up gently a few teaspoons of fajitas spice in a little oil + 2 tablespoons of tin chopped tomato and drip over the top of the meal for the last 10 minutes of cooking.. That would probably do the trick, Accompany with a ration of crisp green salad and Voilaaaa. A quick intimate supper for you and your lovely wife. Gareth don't be scared to tweek these prepared meals, I am sure that you could do wonders and turn a lot of these shop bought meals a little healthier. Good photography too.

To make some of these ‘ ready meals ‘ into a decent tasting, good size portions for two? You might as well just cook it from scratch. Then you get the flavour and heat ratio that you like. This meal could be knocked out in two pots in no time at all. Some of them are OK for one person as a lunchtime snack, but not for a main evening meal.

Last night I had a meat feast thin and crispy pizza made by the same brand(Carlo’s). It was pretty much the same toppings as in your tray bake except the jalapeño peppers were chopped up quite finely whereas the jalapeños in your pasta bake appeared to be quite large by comparison. I’m not normally a fan of meat feast meals but I think that I would buy another but as you mentioned it needs something extra adding to it, I’m thinking about adding some pieces of chicken and maybe a really strong cheese crumbled over the top.

Thats got alot of jalapenos for 1star. I like these types of pasta dishes, although i cover them in grated cheese and cook in the airfryer as the results are better.

I get these from farmfoods, 400g £2.50, not bad for one person with a bit of garlic bread. You have to cover the pasta with the sauce while it's cooking, otherwise it's like chewing plastic! 😉

Will watch when in from work , I was going to mention the Asda tin curries are immense and no rubber chicken or slimy , you should maybe give it a go as hugely impressive in my opinion, just a thought cheers love the channel, I’ve just realised I had this meal in the week and did not like it at all , to be honest I threw half of it away just a mess lol again all opinions

I have not had this particular meal, but I have had Carlos pizzas from Aldi, and the pepperoni do tend to be a bit bland, even though you would expect them to be spicy. It does seem a reasonable meal for the price, but it wouldn’t serve two as a main meal unless you had a lot of side dishes. All right for what it is, though.

I know this is a strange thing to say (lol maybe) but if you add anchovies to the mix pre cooking it will add a massive amount of flavor. BUT I would put them sparingly on the top of the pasta to maximise the saltiness of the anchovies. Or you could add them to a 1/2 cup of tomato puree and mix it in pre cooking.

Hi Gareth, So it's not horrible just bland about a 6 out of 10 , there is a lot and look's filling. the best thing to do is buy it and ad paprika ,chines ,garlic pepper and some chilli flakes. There is a general problem with food manufacturers. They forget that our tastebuds are more advanced these days when it comes to spicy foods. A lot of us enjoy a meal with a higher level of spice than they think! Aldi's 3 chilli rating isn't at all hot for me, the 1 chilli rating just doesn't even reach the starting line. The small amount of herbs is generally woeful too but most go to heavy on salt. Before they launch these products, they need to use real customers to taste test them, their own tasting panels seem not to know what the customer likes. I remember watching a tv series about Aldi sourcing new product lines, the head of Aldi product purchasing tasted products and chose items according to her taste. I tried some of those items and found them to sadly be lacking in flavour.

The Asda equivalent of the meat feast pasta bake is £4 but this is 800g so not bad amount of food for the money and its really good. By the way I always insist on pronouncing the 'J' in Jalapeno as i'm British. Its only the Spanish the don't pronounce their 'J's' so why do people insist on speaking Spanish in the UK? When in Rome, thats what I say.

A shake of hot sauce would do the trick. Not really a bad single portion for £2.99. I don’t think it’s a sharer. A good review though 👍🏻. Was it just Salami? or was there any Chorizo as well? Price not bad but from what you said it needs some help to bring it to life a bit more. Chilli flakes,pepper etc are fairly cheap and the sort of thing a lot of ppl will have around anyway so not the end of the world. You'd need to add in some garlic bread though if that's gonna feed two ppl....pretty sure you'd demolish that on your own if it had a bit more flavour :P

Well, this is surprising. I fully expected the pack size to be 375g. 600g is quite a lot more. The price is good, too. But it's too much for one person for one meal, if you're going to eat something on the side as well, like a salad, chips or rice, so I would have to divide it into two and keep half in the fridge for the next day. Looks tasty, though.

Aldi are promoting cheese bakes as new but they are not they were available well before the lockdown. They are now £2.79 each but were £2.29 and you get the china pot to keep and reuse. They are lovely but I always go for the one with chorizo in it.
