High quality demos and narration that even a novice such as myself can understand. You're a real educator. Thank you. For those who have asked, the "special" offer BlackMagic is making (to draw us all into their ecosystem), as described during the livestream and in their press release is: "Buy the Pro version of DaVinci Resolve 17 from an authorized reseller, and get a free Speed Editor Panel." The new Speed Editor Panel seems to be intended to enhance / expand functionality and increase productivity on the Cut Page. It connects via bluetooth, and probably will not work on legacy versions of Resolve. The press release says "available immediately." No reseller I contacted (I made the rounds by phone this morning), knows when the out-of-beta version will be available. As a newbie amateur who often clicks "A", I appreciate the insightful instruction on your channel. Subscribed!

I am so glad I found your channel! I've been working as a fulltime colorist for almost five years now and was always looking for videos, tutorials, etc. that would actually still teach me new stuff. Sadly for the biggest part they all cover the same basics and concepts. I probably learend more by watching just a few of your videos today than I learned for the past year! Thank you :) One wish I'd like to speak out: All of your videos I've seen so far were very much focused on Resolve as a software and the technical aspects of it. I'd love to see more content covering creative working in resolve and also maybe more workflow oriented ones. Maybe going into specific looks, how you achieve them and how you colaborate with the DOP and Director on finding the right look. I'd like to see in depth grading sessions from start to finish because I believe it's actually the little details that would help advanced colorists to further hone their craft. Maybe even all the way from conforming to the final delivery. I know that would be a lot of work but I am sure people who have found your channel would really appreciate that. Looking forward to more quality from you. All the best from Germany :)

Thanks Darren. I’ve been starting to use this tool more recently and it’s great. Just one thing that’s confusing me though, why does the hue data displayed not match / line up with the image on the vectorscope? The skin line on the Colour Warper for example seems positioned way further towards red in comparison to the position of the skin line on the vectorscope. Am I missing something? Thanks. Hope you’re well. Joel.

Love this over-view - but you flew through it very quickly. Hopefully you will be making a more detailed video about the color warper? Also, is there a way of making the sky darker without changing the color? I know I can make a mask to do that, but wondering if the color warper can also control brightness and/or contrast without effecting the whole picture. Thanks!
@DarrenMostyn4 жыл бұрын
you can control LUMA in the color/luma tab of the color warper. Luma is brightness.
@krimataco4 ай бұрын
I have a question - does anything speak against adjusting overall brightness with the chroma/luma window? I have a feeling that it works superwell but I'm wondering if I should rather go for Primaries Wheels, HDR, Curves, etc.

Web is one convoluted tool prone to user errors due to lack of cursor movement fine tuning. It's been present in Scratch for a while now and in both apps Resolve and Scratch it has the same issues. This tool is best suited for touch ups instead of broad changes, at least in my experience.
