Can this be done on a mesh/point cloud with internal points? I have a series of dxf boxes representing different stages of an excavation. Some boxes overlap and some are within each other resulting in a lot of internal walls. Would it be possible to shrink wrap these dxfs so I end up with one dxf representing the external walls of the final excavation only?

Hi Chris. From what you describe it doesn’t sound likely you’d get a good result with Shrink Wrap. You’ll end up with a mesh and you may not have enough control over the result. Of course, I haven’t seen the geometry so it may or not be possible. Why don’t you try out the 90-day evaluation of Rhino to see if it works for you?

Thank you. We use TechSmith Camtasia to capture the screen recordings but the videos are edited in Final Cut Pro on a Mac
