Hello, me and my husband are traveling from chicago to Hamburg , however we have a 1 hr 10 min layover in Istanbul, our ticket is with Turkish Airlines and it’s all on the same airline same ticket, do you believe that layover would be enough for us to make to our gate? To answer your question I believe you should change your onward flight is 1 hour and 10 minutes layover is will be very tough to change your flight. Istanbul airport is world biggest airport and it will take good 15 to 20 minutes to get to the gate after landing and the disembarkation from the plane will take another 10 minutes and another 25 to thirty minutes from the plane to the international transfer and security. In your case it is international transfer not domestic transfer. So would need a good 2 hours layover in Istanbul to make sure that you make your onward flight. I’m travelling from India to Tashkent and then after visiting Uzbekistan I’ll go to turkey My flight from Tashkent to Istanbul lands at 4:30 morning (Uzbekistan airlines) and most likely I’m not carrying check in luggage My domestic flight from Istanbul to Dalaman (turkish airlines) is scheduled at 6:40am I’m holding active uk visa and will be travelling to Turkey on e-visa Layover of 2 hrs (4:30-6:40am) sufficient to go through immigration, customs and catch domestic flight ? No, you don’t need a visa as long as you have the boarding pass for your onward flight. Please make sure to ask the ticket agent at the Mexico airport to give you the boarding pass for your onward flight as well. If he doesn’t give you the boarding pass for your onward flight you can still get it inside the arrival terminal at the international flight connection counter at Istanbul airport as long as you are flying Turkish airlines there are few other airlines have their counters right next to the Turkish airlines counter but please make sure to have both boarding passes at the Mexico airport so you don’t have to go through the second process. The only time you need a transit visa if you have two separate tickets from two separate airlines then you need to go through the customs and immigration process and recheck your luggage at the departure counter of the second airline and for that you have to go through customs and immigration process, i hope this helps you understand the process. Yeah may encounter some bad apples but most of the taxi drivers are good. Just turn on your google map and put your destination on your phone and if he deviates from the route you will know that he taken you a longer route. Rhe fare to downtown Istanbul is pretty much the same but since the devaluation of lira your dollar is worth a lot more. I hope that I answered your question. I just you the reply. Once you arrive in Istanbul you have to go through the immigration and customs and then recheck yourself with your airline at the departure lounge which is on the upper level of the Istanbul airport to get there you have to take the elevator and go to the departure lounge and recheck your bags and yourself get the boarding passes for your domestic flight and then go through the security checkpoints again and then follow the tv screens for your flight information. To answer your question, yes when you arrive in Istanbul you do have to go through the immigration and customs and then re check your luggage with the other airlines. In my opinion 1:30 minutes is not enough time for you to go through the immigration and customs because the immigration process can take up to 1 hour and then you pass through customs and then go upstairs to the departure lounge again and recheck your luggage and go through the security process all over again. First of all thank you for watching my video and your question. Yes, you would have enough time to go out and enjoy this beautiful city. Just go to the visa counter right next to the passport control and if you have a passport from the countries which is on the list of visa on arrival for Turkey then just pay the visa fee and threy will put a visa sticker on you passport which is usually valid for six months multiple visa on arrival facility in Turkiye. Just go through the passport control and the customs and take a taxi or a shuttle bus to the downturn Istanbul area. If I was you I would take a raxi to Sultanahmet area of Istanbul and get a hotel room for 2 days and enjoy Istanbul.

I think if the immigration counters are not busy you might make it. Just want to know if you are flying the same airline or you have two different tickets with two different airlines? If you have two selected tickets with two separate airlines then you have two go through all the procedures and for that you don’t have enough time, but if you have one ticket with two separate airlines on the same PNR just ask the ticket agent at your first departure airport to give you the onward boarding passes as well and check your baggage all the way through. If you are carrying things which may be restricted to bring in Turkey without paying customs fees than you go through the red zone and if you think what you are carrying with you is not for business purposes and only for your use while you are in Turkey then you go through green zone. Food items like certain types of fruits and vegetables are required by the Turkish government to be declared when you arrive in Turkey. Also if someone is going to stay longer then 2 or 3 months in Turkey then they have to pay some taxes for their phones otherwise their phones will get a message and it will not work if you want to use a Turkish telephone number. @@yankiefrenz1367 that’s not true at all. I think you may had a bad experience with a one rude immigration officer but it doesn’t mean that all of them are not friendly. It can happen in other countries too. They may not speak English very well but they are very professional. I think US customs and immigration officers at the airport are not there to be friendly but they are there to be respectful and professional. Same goes for the Turkish immigration officers. Hi, How good or bad is the customs checks at istanbul. Travelling via dubai can i enter with 2 laptops (1 official and 1 personal) and 2 mobiles. Do i need to declare or pay any duties?

The customs at the airport is pretty good. They only stops you if they notice something out of ordinary. Are you just visiting Turkey or are you moving there? If you are just visiting then you don’t have to pay any taxes but if you are moving there then you have pay the custom duty. You don’t have to declare them as you are just visiting but like I said earlier if you are moving there then you have to pay taxes. For mobile phones you can use them for a while but after a some months you will receive a message where in order to use the phone any longer you will have to pay the appropriate taxes.

If you have one ticket with two airlines then you ask the ticket agent in Baku to give you the boarding passes from Istanbul Sabhi Gokcen airport to Morocco as well. But, if you have two separate tickets with different airlines like Azerbijan airlines and Pegasus airlines. Then you have to go and collect your luggage from the baggage claim area and then recheck your luggage at the airport ticket counter at Sabiha Gokcen airport and for that you have to go out and you need to have a visa to go outside and three hours time mag not be enough. I think you may have a single ticket with two separate airlines so it shouldn’t be any problem. Just make sure that you get the onward boarding pass from Baku airport. You have olenty if time. Just follow the signs for transfer or connecting flights and go through the security system and follow the signs at departure lounge and look for your flight on the screens and once the flight is announced go to that gate. First of all thank you so much for watching my video. Well to be honest with you I am not sure about the overstaying the visa penalty in Turkey. But I believe you should have paid that before leaving the country. It also depends what country you are from. If you are from a European country, USA, or Canada you get the visa on arrival if you are not from one of those countries and have to apply an evisa then you may get a denial but I am not hundred percent sure about that. @@hilifetravel8764 Thank you! I will do! I already had someone call both CX service number in IST airport and they said they did have a finance office before immigration in transfer location. However, I cannot find it on the IST interactive map. I also contacted the Embassy here and they told me I was to pay when I am in IST airport. The officer told me when I left that I could pay when I return however, seeing now it seems the basic answer is it is up to the discretion of the passport kontrol guard. I will find out soon. Yes, they do take your biometrics photos at the passport control. Yes. When you arrive at the passport control officer’s counter they take your biometric phone. This is just one of the reasons for the immigration process taking so long the other thing is because Istanbul airport is very busy all the time. Going back give your self at least 2 and half hours before your flight because you have to gp through two sets of security checks. First, when you arrive at the terminal before checking in for your flight the second one is after you check in and going towards your departure gates. I hope that I answered your question. If you are flying Turkish airlines all the way to your final destination then Turkish airlines offer free hotel room and the visa service. Check with the Turkish airlines if you are flying with them.If you are flying a different airline then you will need a visa to go outside. How long is your layover? If it is more then ten hours then its worth going outside because the immigration lines can take up to an hour and customs and the taxi ride to the city can take another hour depending upon the traffic so you will need at least four hours for the traveling and the immigration and customs back and forth.
