I've been looking for something else for my fungicide arsenal. Thanks for making a video on this product! I actually like that it comes in a pelletized form. Also, it's crazy how you have had a lot of rain because I live in the Atlanta area and we've had very little rain for over a month now. The humidity has been quite low compared to last year when we were already in the 90s.

Be blessed with rain we had no significant rain here in Northern NJ... last rain was in end of april... its getting to the point that my backyard bluegrass is going to have to go... fescue😢

Yea kbg is hard to maintain without rain. I know the pain. It’s so gorgeous until the water goes away. Then it can be pricy.

@lysawy82, Do you have irrigation system? What have your temperatures been running in NJ?

Usually, you need not mix two fungicides when applying. For example mixing 3336 (group 1) with Armada (group 11). I know there are mixed products like Headway. But a BMP would probably be to rotate these like you did with the propoconizole (group 3) and then the azoxystrobin (group 11). Matt Martin recently had a guest on and they did a deep dive on fungicides, FRAC Codes, and MOA’s. It’s worth a watch. Your lawn looks good. Lots of hard work pays off!

Do you have a link to Matt’s video? Would love to watch that

Keep up the entertaining and educational videos. I'm not in your area. I'm not a professional. I live in Las Vegas Nevada which is a transition zone but nowhere near the same area as North Carolina. I wish I had more options to watch videos from my area but for some reason we just don't. Or at least, I cannot find them. So thank you.

Thanks for the comment I appreciate it. I hope I can entertain a little. Been to Vegas once, to fly over to NC for the birth of my first born! Was in Southern Cali for military training. That’s it. Totally different area. Be blessed sir!

Let me clear, in case you missed it in the description; Armada is a Group 3 and Group 11, which is in the same category of Azoxy and Propi. However, this go around I'm doing a heavier curative rate, not preventative rate. It's a different active ingredient(s) though. So if you are looking for a different fungicide in a different group, this wouldn't be what you want. McClearys 3336 however is a Group 1 fungicide, so you can read on it's target pests to learn more there. We will see in time if this spray helped or not. God bless!
@ChefDevo1776 Жыл бұрын
Good that you clear that up...the way it attacks the fungus is exactly the same as Prop/Azoxy.
@justina6075 Жыл бұрын
Stergo MX Mefenoxam Fungicide is a Group 4 Cleary 3336F Fungicide is a Group 1 I had fungus really bad last year, had to use those two after Azoxystrobin and Propiconazole didn’t kill it off. They worked but sure are expensive. I keep what is left as a backup. This year so far so good, put down Azoxy & propiconazole together at the preventative rate every month starting in April. No fungus yet. My property has woods like yours, the fungus is in the ground leaves and soil. The foot traffic and my tractor are always dragging the spores into the lawn.
@BlacGyver Жыл бұрын
I've been using that fungicide for years. It's a group 3 and 11. It works very well.
@ChefDevo1776 Жыл бұрын
Isnt Propiconizole and Azoxy a group 3 & 11 fungicide? Same as Armada? That would mean they have same mode of action, meaning the way it attacks the fungus is exactly the same. Hope you get good results.
@MrFergusonLawn Жыл бұрын
Yep, just different active ingredient. Correct. However the McCleary's 3336 is a Group 1, so it being added in SHOULD possibly show some help.

@@MrFergusonLawn last year I got grey leaf spot or as Paul with PPC calls it, Mongolian Death Blight(LOL!!). Clearys 3336 was the ticket. It a strong, high volume fungicide but it works!!.

Awesome. I've been on a fungicide research mission. I put disease x down, but want to be prepared if fungus takes over.

Another one mowed down. Thanks for this review. Good to know other fungicide materials. From what I was told, to mix up fungicide that are not from the same group. So the lawn does not get used to the product as you stated. I would try to alternate every year to a different group. So propiconazole and azoxy and armada are all in the same group. I believe you needed to find a different group for it to be more effective. Let me know if this is not the case. Thanks for taking the time to enlighten us. Also does the jug take the measurement or do you have to weight it?
@MrFergusonLawn Жыл бұрын
Being it had it's own jug, I measured according to that. You are right though, it's the same group, but the McCleary's I added is a different group, so that may help. Previously I did preventative rates, so though I am using different active ingredient of same group, I did a curative rate this go around. Time will tell. Thanks Richard!!

@@MrFergusonLawn ok understood and sorry for not reading the description. Thanks for taking the time to reply. Have a blessed day and will look into McCleary group 1. I feel liquid fungicide works better and faster than granular from my experience.

Can you make a shorty specifing on your deck height you mow, and why? I seen that you are now mowing at 4” I believe? I’m still at 4.5”.
@MrFergusonLawn Жыл бұрын
Last 2 times I actually did 3.5” but prior to that yes, 4”. 4 is as high as Honda will go. I did 3.5” last two mows bc it’s been cooler and rainy, and to allow more air flow. I’ll try to do that Johnny. Thanks man!

Great stuff as always. I have perennial ryegrass which looks amazing in spring and fall, but it got crushed last summer. I’ve done several things different this year including using natural adjuvant when applying fungicide as suggested by you and Pete. My grass is still green while all my other neighbors who have TTTF is going brown 😅. I also did some intense manual aeration (2-3 inch apart), applied calcium and PhiteORR. Not sure which one of this made a difference, maybe all together 😂.

I plan on doing a second fungicide app of prop and azoxy mixed with 0-0-25 and gci 1-0-1. I will order the 3336 fungicide then from now on swap between those. This is my first year using fungicides and i definitely want a good rotation for the future.
