Oishi desu! Yes, why isn't Princess Peach's dessert peach instead of strawberry? It would be cool if it was. Anyway, love this review series.
@centrifugedestroyer25793 жыл бұрын
Probably because they wanted to keep her iconic colour scheme. The desert looks like her dress and crown, and that's famously pink. But peach flavour isn't usually associated with this shade of pink for most people. It would be a softer pink or an apricot shade. Tasting something that doesn't seem to fit the colour can be as weird as the whole princess peach- strawberry flavour situation. Therefore, the product developers had a dilemma what conflict of expectations would be worse. I think that they chose the description conflict rather than colour conflict, because of the prevalence of "decoration English". Many Japanese people probably recognise the name pretty well, but might not think that much about the word "peach" in it. As a kid (English is my second language) I didn't think about the "peach" part at all, although I had definitely learned the word "peach" in school. So it's quite likely that their target demographic, Japanese people, will recognise the name, but will mostly read the information in Japanese and maybe won't make the peach connection at all.

@@centrifugedestroyer2579 Oh, you're right! I can't unsee it now. The dessert IS Princess Peach. Good eye! 😁

Article title: There’s a mini Mexican food moment happening in Japan’s convenience stores ; article date: Jan 30, 2021. Talking about Mexican food moment happening in Japan’s convenience stores. Seven-Eleven with its taco rice bowls and tortilla wraps. And, FamilyMart has “Faru Maki” line of spring rolls now features a “taco meat” variety encased in a turtle-green wrap. Would you be up to task to try it out? and give your critique.

There’s a good chance the egg yolk in the natto maki is fake btw. Kewpie makes a shelf stable faux egg for conbinis. I’m sure they taste good though, I wouldn’t mind. But whenever I see yolks in conbinis that’s where my thought goes to.
@ColtGColtG3 жыл бұрын
yeah, thats why I cringe whenever Shinichi says things like "raw eggs are safe to eat in Japan". Risks are the same as they are in other countries and the fact that Kewpie makes that fake yolk is all one needs to understand this fact.
@C.u.d.s3 жыл бұрын
@@ColtGColtG Raw eggs are a lot safer to eat in Japan though. I think they caution infants and elderly however. The egg processing/sorting/storing process is unlike any other country.
@tosht25153 жыл бұрын
@@ColtGColtG The Kewpie “egg” was created to resemble a raw egg yolk. Of course it’s either going to have preservatives or be completely fake. The true raw eggs everyone eats in Japan are still in the shell and fresh with short expiration dates. Very safe to eat due to strict standards. No need to cringe when Shinichi mentions raw eggs.

Natto is something I probably wouldn’t be able to try if visiting Japan. It just looks so.... I like various types of beans but not beans in sticky snot 😳 Miso is another thing I’d struggle with, just the word makes me cringe in a similar fashion as the characters when they had the “moist” episode in How I met your mother. Miso just affects me more than the word moist, and it just doesn’t make sense... Think the only way for me to try miso anything would be if I ate something with miso without knowing it until afterwards, so I don’t eat it while my mind is biased by how the word affects me. But yeah, Natto... Not as easy to hide as miso would be, so Natto would be a no go 🤣 Also, really cute little doggo!

you can get beef bowl 24\7 like almost anywhere in Japan, I always go to Sukiya as they are also on the bottom floor of Kansai airport, so while I wait for my flight I go and have a snack there but Gyudon shops are almost as proliferate as Conbini in Japan.
