I saw someone say here on a KZbin comment that she's not Cupid, she's Cupid and Psyche's daughter Voluptas, goddess of lust. That's why the relationships that she puts together don't last, cause it's not love, it's just sexual desire. Tony at the end is the real Cupid, he comes and makes the guy fall in real love, to show her that what she can provide is not "the real deal" just a fleeting emotion/sensation. And newjeans are the Graces that follow Voluptas around.

Hoyeon is such an incredible actress. The way she portrayed the emotions Cupid was feeling felt so real, I believed everything because I could see pain on her face, inside her eyes… this is amazing

Another detail that I’ve noticed and really liked, it’s the fact that when Hoyeon is still a god we can’t see her legs due to her long bottoms. After she becomes a human we get shots that focus only on her shoes to prove to us again that she’s now human.

I'm hopeful with the ending because Hoyeon looks defience to me and turn to walk back from where she came from like she won't give up on Psyche and return to him or she won't return to being deity and continue to search for new love as human. The overall interpretation for me is from the big clue at the giant painting in the museum. This MV is the modern interpretation of the Eros (Cupid) and Psyche myth. Other than the modern interpretation of Eros and Psyche, this mv kinda remind me of the idol life. They sing about love and many of their music help others fall in love, but they cannot fall in love themselves due to contract and fan culture. If they want love, they often have to give up their status as idol like how Hoyeon gave up her role as deity to be with her Psyche.

I was so looking forward to you covering this video. This video is by far my favorite so far. If this were a 2 hr movie I'd watch it in a heartbeat. One thing I found weird then cool was the panning of the song, that it was only playing on my right side, but that was the side that Hoyeon walked to then it went to both ears once she goes to the muses/painting. So freaking cool.

The painting is the giveaway to the whole MV concept - L'Amour et Psyché (Cupid and Psyche, 1817) by Françios Édouard Picot. Its also known as "Psyche Abandoned". I think its in the Louvre for anyone wishing to see it. Another MV using clsssical paintings! (incl.MiSaMo and Red Velvet!!) Additionally Shin Woo-seok creating his style and trademarks - distinct sound production/rain/shadow/camera movement (Jordan missed some of these). alongside Bang Jae-yeob, they both have unique styles!! Jordan also missed links to certain parts of the video referencing the Picot painting - Cupid losing clothes after visiting Psyche (the guy) bed for first time, not abandoning Psyche (the guy) and altering their destiny, the painting of Hoyeon referencing the position/look of Cupid in the Picot painting. There's so much more in addition to this.
