*Bonus Entries:* - The 1995 URHS excursion with recently restored Lehigh Valley F7s 576 and 578 to Hackettstown also ran with almost all NJT coaches and a GP40. - According to Rail Guide, NJT technically owns the trackage of the freight spur that serves the Mars Candy Factory in Hackettstown, known for specifically producing most of the world's M&Ms. - Several NJT stations have appeared in various movies over the past few decades, mostly at Hoboken Terminal but also at smaller stations such as Orange and Glen Rock. These instances can be found in this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/eaWQdHeqeM6HeK8si=GvB0i3dx376MP_fz - The Atlantic City Line is the only passenger rail connection listed on Amtrak's list of through bus services, meaning that the Atlantic City Line is one of the few commuter rail routes that honors Amtrak through tickets, and could technically make the Atlantic City Line an Amtrak Thruway service. -UPDATE: The 1990 Ski Train excursion went to the ski park section (mountain creek) of the infamous Action Park water park.

Hey yall, if anyone was wondering why many of these expansion proposals have Pensy saying “for around 20 years” is simply because NJT researched everything they wanted to do like 20 years ago

17:07 in addition to Comet IB (Comaro) cab cars, which were numbered in 51xx series to follow the Comet II (pre-overhaul) cab cars, some Arrow I’s became Comet IB trailers, which had 52xx numbers. And they definitely weren’t confined to the Hoboken division, because I rode them a lot on the Raritan Valley Line from the late ‘90s until they were retired when the Comet V’s arrived in 2003 or so.

Correction for the NJT Observation Car: The Blue Comet had 3 observation cars; Biela, De Vico, Tempel. The observation car used by NJT was De Vico and it is somewhat restored back to the Blue Comet appearance in at the UHRS yard in Boonton. The observation car in Whippany was a commuter club car that was modified to look like an observation car. 40:36

Considering the Alstom diesels were still built for the US, perhaps they adapted the French classification system but used NJT’s numbering as reference, seeing as the PL42’s are in all 4000 series numbers. DE4000BB

You mentioned the NJT yard in Suffern, New York but didn't mention the other out of state NJT yard in Morrisville, Pennsylvania. This yard came about due to the need for an expanded yard at Trenton for turning and storing trains. Original plans favored by NJ politicians was to use the old Barracks Yard just east of Trenton. Operations (Amtrak/NJT) wanted to use the old (PRR/PC/CR) yard at Morrisville. Barracks would have required NJT trains arriving on No.4 track to make a reverse move into the yard. Train originating at Trenton would have to cross all the way over the plant at "Ham" to get to No.1 track at Trenton. Morrisville would allow trains arriving on No.4 track at Trenton to discharge their passengers and then proceed to "Morris" only having to crossover No.3 track to get to the yard. Train originating at Morrisville would only have to crossover No.2 track to get to No.1 track at Trenton. After a long tug of war between the politicians and the operating department common sense won out and the new yard was built at Morrisville. Another thing you missed was the lease of all 7 SEPTA AEM7's to NJT. It seems NJT was in danger of missing a key date to have a certain percentage of it's fleet equipped with PTC/ACSES. The solution was for NJT to lease the then OOS SEPTA AEM7's which was *just* enough to push them over the PTC/ACSES threshold. The SEPTA units sat in Morrisville yard never turning a wheel in NJT service. They were returned once NJT had enough units certified PTC/ACSES equipped.
@Pensyfan199 ай бұрын
Thank you for mentioning that. I was going back and forth as to whether I should include the SEPTA AEM7s in the iceberg since NJT never ended up using them, and weren't even given NJT reporting marks to my knowledge.

As a railfan at Princeton jct. and Bound Brook. I enjoy the high speed train and the Acela doing 150mph while at Princeton jct including the Aveila 165mph test runs. I enjoy Bound Brook as well including the CSAO MA-01 and MA-02 local during the week day and the overnight local MA-20 goes on RVL later at night and the PR Secondary line. In my POV while at Bound Brook from 2016 to Pre 2020 before the C virus. Bound Brook was the Hub for NS and CSX in the 2010's. Even I started in 2016. I did went to Bound Brook during the C Virvus after work or off from work and into 2021. In May 2021 drama broke out like the kid from Phila did the "human (can't use the 'P' word on youtube you know I mean) liqud in a shoe". After the problem in 2022 still some out break drama at times at Bound Brook. In 2023 I notice it that it had got a little better and late 2023 the station got a restore waiting room. As of this typing in 2024. Bound Brook waiting room has been open in Feburary 2024. I heard from many of my friends that they are less people going to Bound Brook due to parking that cost $4 which isn't bad in my opinion for the weekday and weekend. They just don't want parking tickets by the town or so. They all head to a Chemical plant spot in Piscataway just east of Bound Brook which the spot is a privilege that the management staff don't mind railfan to see trains as railfan argee to NO littering, NO blocking the driveway, and NO drama.They were times by Management tolds railfans in a "niceway" to keep the place clean the citrical problem. I still go to Piscataway some visit. The Best Time to see trains is early in the morning like 5, 6,or 7 am to 10, or 11am at Bound Brook. The line resume at 2pm to about 7, or 8pm all depending on the time and day.

The Lackawanna Montclair Branch did NOT connect directly with the Lackawanna Boonton Line. It was connected to the former Erie Greenwood Lake Branch at Montclair. The Greenwood Lake Branch connects with the former Boonton Line at Mountain View for the rest of the run to Dover, and sometimes beyond. The former Greenwood Lake Branch continued north to Wanaque-Midvale (and to Greenwood Lake until the 1940's). Service on the Branch from Mt. View to Wanaque-Midvale ended in 1966.

I didn't address this in the live chat, but I technically used the same mic for recording this video, but recorded in two different locations, due to one of the two places having a generator turn on while recording. Add that with a few last second entries in higher levels, and you have two different audio qualities mixed throughout the video.
