I've had my gen 1 jetboil for a really long time. Over a decade. I've just got a zip and a skillet and pot support... thinking about getting this too.

It's well worth the investment!

Could you use the pot as a frying pan as well? So you don’t have to buy a pan or have the extra weight
@BackpackingUK2 жыл бұрын
I do. To me it's got the same ceramic coating as the skillet and the non-stick is really good.
@dublinvids5146 Жыл бұрын
Yeah, it's just as wide as the skillet, or as near as makes no difference, and so don't see the need for both when the pot can pretty much do all the skillet can.

Sound is excellent now Andy. I now have the summit skillet from watching your video. Will now look at this one.

Does it have a case like the skillet?
@BackpackingUK3 жыл бұрын
@@marcandsebe No, it doesn't have a case which is a shame. It also doesn't have a bottom cover like the outgoing model.

Thanks for the video! I need a pot for a backpacking trip with 2-3 people. Can I cook food and not only boil water with less than 1.5 liters pot? I want a pot that will be big enough but not bulky for backpacking..
@BackpackingUK2 жыл бұрын
This is ideal. It also fits in the lid section of my Osprey backpack.

Could you measure the inner diameter of the Fluxring? So how large pot support area is needed to use this. I don't have a Jetboil stove but I'm looking for a heat exchanger pot for the MSR PocketRocket Deluxe.
@BackpackingUK3 жыл бұрын
Great question. If the diameter of the pot supports is less than 97mm it will sit directly on the base of the pot (not preferable). However, if the diameter of the pot supports if greater than 97mm but less than 124mm it will sit nicely on the flux ring base (as intended use). Hope this helps.
@jpnurminen3 жыл бұрын
@@BackpackingUK Thanks for a quick reply. My PocketRocket Deluxe is still coming in the mail but I measured the older PocketRocket2 and it’s be approx. 120 mm. Maybe I should order the Jetboil Pot...
@BackpackingUK3 жыл бұрын
If the new one is 120mm too, it would sit on the pot perfectly.

Jetboil 1.5L Ceramic FluxRing Cook Pot allows the MSR Whisperlite International to sit nicely inside (with a soft cloth to protect the ceramic interior). The pot sits nicely on the Whisperlite as well. Because of the FluxRing it boils water a lot quicker as well. Worth the investment especially for my winter Wild Camping!

Will the required jetboil accessories fit inside the 1.5l pot? Like the burner, cannister and cannister support?
@BackpackingUK3 жыл бұрын
Definitely. However, you would want to fill it otherwise it will rattle.

If you're from the UK, I would go to trekkinn.com. The Summit Skillet is £37.49 and the Ceramic Cook Pot is £61.99. You will pay for postage and have to wait for a week or so as it's coming from europe but you'll save lots of money.

You're right. However, this fits in the lid of my backpack so it's reasonably compact and if you put the canister, burner, pot support and stand in the pot it's like a larger Jetboil Stash.

Having bought the Summit Skillet, I will not buy that pot! Skillet is a rip off, what a ridiculous cost for a little fry pan? I would have to personally use that pot and love it, for the huge price being asked for it. Good luck with it.
@BackpackingUK2 жыл бұрын
That’s a bit over the top 😂 Personally, I highly rate the skillet and it’s 10x better than standard backpacking pans. Yes it is expensive, but it’s the best backpacking skillet out there!
@jimbojet87282 жыл бұрын
There are many pans much better than that at a lot less cost in U.K.? The Skillet isn’t a bad pan, but there’s absolutely nothing special about it. As you’d expect there to be, because it’s the most expensive pan I own, the most expensive fry pan in all the U.K. shops and stores, but it is not the better pan, by a long shot! I wish I hadn’t bought it and I would tell others, physically go handle and use the pan if you can. Don’t buy it on line ‘blind’, you’ll be glad you did, and I suspect save yourself a lot of money. Good luck.

I've just finished my next review on the Jetboil Ceramic Cook Pot. 500ml of water to almost exactly 2 minutes to boil (faster than the MiniMo pot). I don't know the temperature of the water than went in there but the outside temperature was 12 degrees and it was a still day. That was with my Jetboil MiniMo on full blast. Hope this helps. Check out my next video on Saturday at 4pm.
