I touched all the color ways of the Roller Rink line and they feel much rougher and more plasticky. It’s almost like the yarn dye is thicker or sitting on top of the yarn. Glad it’s not just me!

It’s definitely not just you, there is a definite plastic feel to those colors. The Christmas yarn made in India is very soft, I had to cast in with it

The neon one looks very much like Red Heart Supersaver to me. I like the colors of the yarn you bought and the gauge tool is very cute. 😃🤗

The Neon has an old school Red Heart plastic vibe to me too. Red heart has improved over the years so no hate here. I like this grouping of Christmas yarns, they have a subtle beauty while still go off the Christmas vibe.

I went nuts with the big twist ombres, a all in one granny flower power and a couple of stripy yarn from red heart.

@@ChristiJHutchins There are some great videos out there of people trying to use the Flower Power yarn just like the granny square yarn. You might want to look at those for suggestions or use your yarn however you see fit. Those yarns look pretty but if you aren’t spot on they could be stressful

Nice review. I also just purchased several skeins of the Big Twist at Joann's on sale. I also noticed the difference in yarn feel in some of the skeins. Never gave a thought to the chemicals used, although I do usually check out the yarn origin. Think I will order online next time for the additional discount. I usually purchase a Clover Amour Hook with the 40% off coupon (non-sale item usually), as these have become so pricey. Make good x-mas presents for your yarn friends too:)

I’ve thought about it. I know JoAnn has an “affiliate program” that if I were to sign up anyone who clicked on the link they would provide me and purchased something I’d get a very small percentage of that order. I use enough of their yarns, JoAnn is my favorite local big box store.

I find that JoAnn's clearance tends to give may be .25 cents off per skein. I don't call that clearance.

Yes, you are correct, there clearance prices are sad, the sales prices are great. The only difference is, if you think you need it and it’s on clearance grab it at the higher price or you won’t have the opportunity again.
