Quite happy with how it turned out in the end. If somebody wants to try out something like that, please keep in mind that it has to be a quite thick leather for it to work. Many leather-bound notebooks you can buy typically use cardboard with a really thin leather on top which would obviously not work here …

not bad enough I want to make a tiny wooden palette, but now I also feel the need to carve up every leather journal that I have! Thanks mate! 😂

ha maybe leave one or two un-carved: I finally got to cutting the video for the latest sketchbook and for this one I used a woodburning-iron-thingy for the frontcover-design. That‘s a lot of fun also!
