Unless reflourished has changed it, the reason garlic knocked back the zombies in the last level is because e-currant was on screen, and due to a weird bug after they buffed it in vanilla which made e-currant into a single use garlic that knocks back zombies when they eat it a bit, that knockback also affects regular garlic when zombies eat it, but only when e-currant is on screen as well.

No actually, I've played and it's actually like that. In vanilla if you upgrade garlic you can have knockback effect. I guess the Dev of the mod implying that to the game now because before update it's not like that even with e.current.

6:58 Hot Date's Plant Food effect temporarily increases his attraction range. It will extend for an extra tile in both directions, which means that zombies behind him can turn around and walk towards him while his Plant Food ability is active. Also, Sweet Potato's plant food does the same thing. That's not really relevant here, but I just thought I would share because she is very similar to Hot Date, who is the topic at hand.

Here is more info about the tar, that you should know: tar removes any ability from the plant, even the sun producing, and even for Electric Currant to damage zombies (even if it connects to the other currant, it still doesn't deal anything) -only defensive plants are not affected by it, so better put such plants as Wall Nut, Endurian on it.

im not 100% sure but i think infi-nut doesnt respawn and edurian doesnt attack and other defensive plants that have an ability, basicly the tar stunlocks plants that do anything

@@drintrovert4564 for some reason some instas just don't go off at all (like cherry bomb I think not certain but ik one or more just get stuck) a majority works just fine and some like squash only when placed where it'll go off immediately.... Also most on-contact use ones work but a few I think don't

Fun fact: In the base game of pvz2, Popcap actually tried to buff electric current by making to so that zombies would get shocked and pushed back when they eat an electric current but somehow this also effected garlic as well when it's on field with electric current.

Fun Fact: A lot of the Sprites for the New Reflourished content in this world come from the Chinese version of Plants Vs. Zombies 2 (i.e. the Egg Imp and the Jurassic Panic!).

Hot Date is a really good plant for Jurassic as its dmg pieres armour which many enemies in jurassic marsh are armoured so its very useful there, and it also attracts zombies from other lanes that are beside it so more zombies get is, and if you place it in front of the tar, then the zombies will move into the tar.

Blue cannot push zombies any further than the fourth row so if you put the defensive plants on the fourth row it will neutralise blue and stegosaurus completely

if you use eletric curant and garlic at the same time, the game will get confused with its codding and garlic will start sending zombies back a tile because eletric curant also does that normally in the base game (although it's completely useless since it will much probably be dead by the time it activates it)

I feel like the jurassic panic gimmick actually fits really well for this world as here your setup would most likely get ruined by the end and you'd be forced to wing it so having a gimmick that moves every plant in the chosen two lanes makes sense

Hot Date's damage is actually pierces through zombies' armor, so with only 2 Hot Dates, you can actually kill a Buckethead and even Amberhead Zombie. Btw you can actually shovel Gumnut when he took out his gum.

The reason Jurassic Marsh expansion has sixteen levels instead of ten is because this world in vanilla lacks zombies so the devs added new zombies including those who came in PVZ2C. Amberhead Zombies and Jurassic Rockpunchers came from the vanilla, though.

I feel for the length that if they are 16 a 4-6-6 distribution or a 6-6-4 wouldn't be that bad The first one should accomplish giving the first impression and later diving deeper in that world, the second favours more the final boss to have a kind of spotlight

for the record, you can just use snow pea instead of sap, it's the same 50% slowdown with splash to slow multiple zombies at once beforehand you actually had to decide whether to use sap's ability to ignore grid items or snow pea's ability to stall fliers, but now snow pea is pretty much just better in 100% of situations game design 👍

Snow Pea has a 40% Slow (barely more than sap), less AoE and is more expensive than sap, i'd say they're pretty equal Btw for flying zombies you should probably just bring draftodil cuz of the 70% slow to all airborne enemies

@@Amario_ unless they nerfed chill itself in rfl, *it is 50%* also a 40% slowdown makes zombies take ~66.67% longer to progress compared to a 30%'s ~42.86%, which is a very noticeable difference

also forgot to say but replacing your snow pea for a draft is a very bad idea since it *only* affects fliers, compared to snow pea which slows both fliers and non-fliers alike i also wouldn't recommend using it alongside your snow pea either since using an entire seed slot on only flier stalling is generally kinda bad, to say the least

I dont mind the shorter videos, because in the end you're able to highlight more levels of the mod individually instead of plowing through 6 of them at a time. Especially since the developers added newer gimmicks to the next set of worlds. Ultimately it's up to wolfy but either way I'm sure the end result will be quite entertaining and I look forward to it.

Hot Date's fire actually pierces through armor, the zombie that kills it by eating it will always die and then the flames don't quite do Jalapeno-damage against the rest but do have the benefit of damaging through armor, which is great in JM particularly, such as against the Eggshell imps which are in fact just bulkier Jurassic Imps. The tar tiles cause plants to not act period, including attack, produce sun, or do things like Chard Guards knockback. This does not apply to instant-use plants and defensive plants like wall-nuts do retain their high bulk. They do however lose certain extra abilities they might have. So for instance Hot Date cannot attract any zombies towards it while in tar which it normally does, but will as you saw still explode in fire. Also Jurassic Bullys and their variants are now immune to all knockback, including Chard Guard and Hurrikale

Here's how the Tar and Hot date works The Tar not only stops plants from attacking but it will also stop ANY plant from doing anything! Such as producing Sun or Zombies being attracted to Hot date and Sweet potato (also as seen in this episode it will also cancel out the T-Rex's speed boost) And the Hot date/Sweet potato attracts nearby Zombies to eat it (a Reverse garlic) (also Fun fact the dinosaur stamped is from the China edition in which only a chinese exclusive plant the Dinonip (which also has a gimmic with the egg imps) with the plant food can stop it)

9:30 this is actually a bug, electric current got a “buff” where it acts like garlic but the zombie eats the entire current before it moves to the other lane, and it knocks it back. The bug is that if you have electric currents on the field, garlic will also knock zombies back. Interesting bug, but it works.

9:34 Fun fact about Garlic, Electric Currant got buffed a while ago to make it work like a Garlic where zombies that bite it move. This doesn’t work tho since the Electric Currant dies before the zombie gets moved and for some reason it’s programmed to move the zombie to another lane and back a tile. This also, for some reason, causes Garlic to also move them back a tile when they eat it but only if an Electric Currant is also on the field. It’s extremely weird, but maybe you can do something with this knowledge

So the reason that the garlic knocked the zombie back is because they buffed electric currant to have garlic properties. The buff is useless because electric currant dies before the garlic effect happens. However for some weird reason whenever you run garlic and E Currant at the same time garlic gains the knock back as well. 9:36

Something that could help, meteor flowers plant food scares dinosaurs away, I didn’t believe it at first but I tested it and it works every time. probably going to be very helpful for this world

Hey, I'm a new viewer to your content. And I'm not aware about anything you may have decided, but a tip for majority of levels is to put some walls down, they help a bunch. If you can get used to sorta spamming the Primal wall nut you shouldn't have much issues with zombies getting past if you pair it with plants like fume shroom or lightning reed

Cam, Hot Date is like Jalapeno and Sweet Potato in one. Zombies in lanes next to it will change lanes in order to go into Hot Date's lane. Once he's eaten, he acts like a weaker Jalapeno.

Love this worlds gimmicks!! Also in terms of how many levels for the episodes just do whatever. Some levels take many tries and stuff so personally I domt care if you only do like 3 levels if they took so many attempts and stuff. Love everything you do man keep it up

That stampede animation is actually from the Chinese version. We're lucky that the reflourished devs are kind, because in the Chinese version that stampede clears everything in a 9x3 radius. Three whole lanes.

Hot Date ATTRACTS zombies, so basically the opposite of garlic, it makes zombies switch lanes and go to it, this makes it so that he can gather a bunch of zombies then burn them in one group. they no longer attract zomboes if they are on tar

Hot Date is like sweet potato, as in it brings in zombies from the lanes next to it to its lane. basically the opposite of garlic. but putting it in the tar removes the .ability to bring zombies into its lane I think, so then its just a stationary jalapeno.
