If you watch the Taylor Mari guide, you don’t need to turn on subs. Also, Korea counted age differently, so when they say their age, they are really 1-2 years younger. Korean names are last name first, so Kim is a surname, and it’s common so three members last name is Kim, they are not brothers, even though they call each other brother :) Korea is a hierarchical culture, so when they speak to each other, they add honorific, like Hyung added after a name means they are speaking to someone older. Just stuff I wish I’d known right away. Only one is fluent in English but they are all learning very well. Thanks for the nice reaction.

I would add, pay attention to the year each video or song was released. They have been releasing music since 2015 so there has been lots of growth and change in what they do. When you react to older stuff they look incredibly young because they were 15 to 20 years old when they debuted. Now they are 27 to 32.

BTS is a group of 7 (now) men who debuted in 2013. Each one is extraordinarily talented. They all have a “specialty”, some sing, some rap, they all dance. They write and produce much of their own music. The words in those songs is something else. Lots of positivity, very much about learning to love yourself and sometimes they throw in a bit of snark too. BTS is said to be as big as The Beatles!. They have the awards to prove it. Don’t feel bad about missing them/living under a rock, I did too up until about 2 years ago and then I fell all the way down that rabbit hole. These guys are just that good!! The one that you were impressed with his singing is Jungkook. He joined the company at 13 and debuted at 15, he is an amazingly talent. Check out the documentary. Learn. Main Rapper, composer, songwriter. 3:56 - The guys whose clothes you liked are also rappers - J-Hope and Suga (aka Agust D). J-Hope is also main dancer & Dance leader. 5:32 - This is Jimin. He has a tattoo on his rib - NEVERMIND. Besides this tattoo, he has 6 others. He is a vocalist, main dancer. In general, all BTS members have friendship tattoos - this is the number 7 on different parts of the body. And only 2 - Jimin and Jungkook - have a lot of them. Jungkook has a tattoo all over his arm - the so-called sleeve. 6:24 - This is Jungkook, the guy whose voice you liked. He is the main vocalist of the group and the youngest member. Our "golden maknae". An amazing vocalist - our K-pop and pop star. BTS has great choreography! They have great performances! And you are right - it is better to first watch and listen to their clips without subtitles (without translation), and then, again, with texts. The guy that sang the solo part is Jung Kook, the Main Vocalist of the group since 2013. RM is the Leader and Main Rapper. He's the one that stood in front of the straight line of people first. First rap in the song. Now, that said, while he is the leader, all 7 of them take center stage and have parts in each song. Yes, they have solos as well, particularly since they started their mandatory military service in South Korea. Two members are already out (and Jin just released his first solo album "Happy"). Even though the others are still in military, they have surprised us with new songs and/or albums that they recorded before they enlisted. BTS also have Dance Practice videos and sometimes behind scenes or making of videos which can be found on the BANGTAN TV channel. The MV's are on the HYBE Labels channel under BTS, which their original label BigHit falls under. Be careful of copycat channels that sometimes say "official" mv, but they are NOT official MV's (e.g., BigHot channel). Taylor Mari is the channel that has the BTS Intro video they are recommending. It is current through May 2022, and a LOT has happened since then. Still, it is a pretty good introduction to the members of BTS. There is also an introduction to BTS' discography by a channel called "boracity magazine" that might interest you. I don't believe it includes all the solo works since 2022 because the video is a year old as well. Anyway, enjoy and don't hesitate to ask us, ARMY, any questions.

OT7 here. No leader like you think. There is a leader who is responsible for leading interviews and as go between members and the record label. Jungkook is the center so he often is responsible multiple parts. They have leads on different songs. There are songs for rap line, vocal line and dance line, as well as solo songs in addition to solo projects.

Jimin has “NEVERMIND” (from one of their songs) tattooed on his ribs - he has quite a few other tattoos too (e.g. the phases of the moon going down his spine, “young” and “forever” on his upper arms behind the elbow, 13 on his wrist, 7 on the inside of his index finger etc). Jungkook of course has his sleeve, his hand tats, and his 7. All the members have the number 7 on various parts of their bodies as a friendship tat - but Jimin and Jungkook are the only members who have other tats as well as “7”. RM is the oldest,considered the he's The Rap Monster, then J-Hope a rappers with jacket you liked. Then Surga, another rappers, he has another ID, forget that name. He's a fast rapper, really good. Then Jimin, singers, dancers, he starts the singing, blond Hair at the moment. Then V- he has a fake face tattoo for the video. Then Jin, he as a high voice good dancer. My absolute favorite is Jeon Kook, the yoingest member , he was 13 when the group started. His voice is phenomenal, hhe can really get high, can sing anything, his dancing is off the charts. Jimin's "rib" tattoo says NEVERMIND, the neck tattoo on V is henna for this shoot only. His name is Jung Kook, main vocalist!! When you get into their solo work you'll be floored by them. Never think the MV is over, it isn't always. You should see them do this live on The Jimmy Fallon Show taped at Grand Central Station in NYC. It's even more amazing because it's live and they don't miss a note or beat or step. The first rapper, RM, is the leader of BTS. You'll get a lot out of Taylor's video but remember it's two years old and it covers none of their solo music or accomplishments since then. Enjoy your trip down the rabbit hole.

@@Imme_begin Yes, I don't think they understand how that title is offensive. The hate and ridicule K-pop (now a force to be reconned with) struggled for years for industry acceptance. Calling yourself a hater is so much more than these reactors can understand. In the world of K-POP a hater doesn't just dislike an artist or music genre, they want to do everything in their power to see that artist discredited and gone. It is the worst thing to any K-POP fan to brag about being an "Anti" or "Hater".

The face tattoo you saw is fake, sometimes they use these for fashion. Jungkook's sleeve is real, and Jimin has some that were hidden until they went into hiatus. Speaking of fashion, Jimin, dressed in white with the blue-ish hair, split his pants at the upper thigh during the vigorous dancing near the end. Those pants cost $5,800!! RM is the leader, he is the man who rapped near the beginning, in black. An extremely intelligent man, he has written most lyrics and has a very hard job. Suga raps and produces, J-Hope is the dance leader. The singer with the beautiful voice in the middle is Jungkook (JK) who is on his way toward being one of the greatest pop stars in the world. They all had to go do 18 months of military service, and will be back together in June. OMG! Keep coming back and reacting to BTS!

On, the Kinetic Version is a bit more interesting from a dancers perspective, if you would have chosen the Original MV you would have get a story a bit like Lord of the Rings so beautiful. The Choreo of On is one of their hardest, all members said. Every member is unique in their way but Jungkook is really very versatile, he is the only one from the so called vocal line who can rap too. Nice to see you enjoying and exploring this outrageous group!
