About Yeon Jin and her gang breaking into Dong Euns apartment, there was a real case over in South Korea where a group of bullies did that to their male classmate. They would bully him at school and at his house. This drama is loosely based off of multiple real bully cases over there. Even the curling iron scene was based off a true story in 2006.

The nurse didn’t resign herself, the main bully has so much wealth, power, and connections that they were able to make the nurse quit. That’s also why she openly confessed that she’s the perpetrator to the nurse and the victim who stood there in shock.

Here is some info about Korean laws regarding education that Americans may not know about. Legally, each teacher is allowed to regulate their home room in any way they see fit and other teachers are not allowed to intervene with how another teacher teaches or instills discipline and order in their home room. After 2022, a teacher is prohibited from using force of any kind to discipline their students and maintain order in their class room. A teacher is legally allowed to utilize other methods to discipline their students and maintain order in their class room. Most common other methods are mandatory physical exercises (wall sits, squats, running laps, holding heavy objects over their heads, etc). Before 2022, it was legal for a teacher to utilize instrument less (no tools allowed) physical force (open hand slaps) to discipline their students and maintain order in their class room. Before 2013, it was legal for a teacher to utilize an instrument (rod, whip, paddle, etc) and other forms of physical force (punch, knee, kick) to discipline their students and maintain order in their class room. Teachers were also allowed to designate other students to maintain discipline and order by using physical force (punch, slap, kick, etc). The 2013 reforms banned the use of instruments and banned all forms of hitting that was not an open hand slap. Teachers were also prohibited from allowing designated students discipline and maintain order in their class room. However, some old school teachers that were set in their ways would turn a blind eye to privileged students using physical force on other students. Which is one of the reasons for the 2022 reforms, that brought more restrictions and introduced civil penalties for the teacher that allowed prohibited activities to occur in their class room.

Wow that is astounding. I know in the US certain religious schools were allowed to use some form of corporal punishment to discipline students but that was eventually outlawed.
@Shadowspinnerreacts8 күн бұрын
@7:21 that's not a specific superstition in Korea. Rather, she goes to a shaman based on her religious beliefs, and the shaman told her that her daughter hanging around people with that letter in their name would bring her misfortune

This based on a true story btw.... I heard that what happened irl was worse
@FreshestKReacts11 ай бұрын
If its based on it, then I imagine it's very loosely based on it. No way anyone ever methodically planned out their revenge across decades and masterfully executed it. Dong Eun is built different.
@JoonJoon9211 ай бұрын
@@FreshestKReacts lol oh no, my bad 😅, not the revenge part.... just the "bullying" (basically attempted murder) she goes through and the fact that no one helped is all true, the bullies got away with just a slap on the wrist.... There's breakdown of everything that happens on the channel Rotten Mango called "The real story behind The Glory", if you're interested in knowing what happened irl

"Moving" is a hype, relatively recent K-drama. "Extraordinary Attorney Woo" was a wholesome one I'd recommend as well. Baseball is probably the biggest sport in Korea for a seasonal domestic league in the recent years, but we go craziest for like World Cup soccer, and like... Olympics, historically. It was pretty common for teachers to hit students back in the day in Korea as part of education, but it has since been gradually reformed. I won't go further about your other queries cuz of possible spoilers. Hope you enjoy! This show is great.

I think the term guardian does not necessarily always mean the same thing in Korea. The meaning in K-dramas seems to be more akin to responsible adult. For example, the teacher chaperoning a school excursion would be considered the ‘guardian.’ Or any adult accompanying another person to the hospital for a medical emergency. And the school nurse didn’t really resign instead of reporting it, she was fired because she DID report it. Possibly threatened as well.

Healer, is romantic action with a little thriller. The Crowned Clown, is loosely based on The Man In The Iron Mask. Period piece. K2, is action thriller with a little romance. Under The Queen's Umbrella, is a period piece. Action, adventure, love, family, it's got a bit of everything! What's Wrong With Secretary Kim, is a romantic comedy with a bit of thriller. Hotel Del Luna, is a romantic horror with love and heartbreak. Love Struck In The City, is a modern romcom. Doesn't have any weird tropes, just a very realistic portrayal of love.
