I have both R3 Meta and R6 Meta and do hope Erin will give them a spin. Everyone is waiting Erin! I can say R6,R3 Meta are major improvement to my ears over predecessors I suspect dispersion is wider compared to predecessors Also R3 + R6 blend seamlessly, somehow better than previous R3 and R2C and music with Auro3D upmixer is a blast - to the point I don’t feel it’s lacking anything from stereo imaging but creates a huge soundstage - sounds like an end game to me.

At larger companies the designers like know all this, but it’s the marketing team getting in the way. For instance, the designer for Polk said he wasn’t allowed to do a 3-way center for the Reserve line as it would be too tall for most customers to fit it.

The new models with Meta seem to have a slightly wider radiation dispersion, which is always been sort of a negative for the UNIQ.

The reason they may not doing Meta for Midrange to capture resonance could be the engineering challenge due to the size of the channels required with the larger wavelengths and the approach of using a disk may be too large - think they would need to develop a 3 dimensional structure to fit in a cabinet - just speculating of course

I have the ls50 meta and absolutely love the soundstage depth and how etched and precise every sound is, but I just moved to a home and have a much larger room and need something that can play louder with lower distortion and compression. I hope someone is able to do full measurements on the R7 or R11, would love to know how smooth the frequency response is compared to the predecessors and how loud they can play before distortion gets out of hand. Most of the measurements out there are usually for the bookshelf versions.

The resonator for a midrange might require channels that are too deep. The lower the frequency the deeper those channels in the resonator need to be.
