Emma I'm 70 My Eagles 1st live concert was in 1975 , if you really enjoy them check out , Witchy Women, Tequila Sunrise , One of These Nights , Take it Easy they started out backing up Linda Ronstadt and have written songs with Jackson Brown. Best group ever !

I wish THIS lineup of the Eagles could've stayed together (Meisner, Frey, Henley, Felder and Walsh). Nothing against Timothy Schmidt, because he is an excellent replacement for Randy...but this lineup is so damn good. Their harmonies, their instrumentals, just mesh so perfectly.

Summer 1977 the first time I saw them with Jimmy Buffet opening. All they had was a little backdrop of the album cover behind them. I was 14. This was the perfect album IMO. If you can do the album start to finish, it’s worth it. Especially the last song The Last Resort which seems to have been forgotten. And Wasted Time and Try and Love Again. Actually, all the songs!

I agree. I seen them a few years ago at MSG with Deacon Frey and Vince Gill splitting Glen Freys parts. It was their Hitelk California tour. They opened with Hotel California and played the album in order. Took a break and the as Don Henley put it “we’re going to play everything we know” and they did. They were still awesome. They played for three hours and didn’t leave any popular song out.

The guy singing is Glen Frey. Don the drummer wrote Desperado but Glenn wrote the piano intro. On this song Joe Walsh is on piano. He is the guitar player with the goofy expressions on Hotel California. I never got to see them live but I did see Don, Glen, and Randy backing Linda Ronstadt and Randy as solo act.

I certainly agree with you with one exception. And that is that you completely forgot about Joe Walsh. One of the most unbique voices of the rock era. I think because of his great guitar playing. He's often forgotten regarding his vocals.

One of the strongest things I can say about the eagles. Is that when I saw them live? I was astounded by the quality of quality of their voices both individually and in tune with the others to the point where if I close my eyes, I honestly could have felt that I was listening to a well produced studio album, and yet they were live.

This has been my favorite band since I was a little kid. My parents had the 8 tracks and later in my teen I had the cassette tape. Their music is so great. I would advise you to do a dive into their catalog of music. So many great hits. I love watching younger people discover the music I grew up with." From my understanding the lyrics were inspired by the Changing Music scene at the Time in the 70's. The Eagles were somewhat concerned of their relevancy in the ERA, hence the New Kid in Town is in reference to Punk and New Wave Music coming on the scene.
