@9:05 The lead singer for "Please Don't Go Girl" is Joey McIntyre. Maybe you can listen to Joey McIntyre's single "Stay The Same" that was released in 1999. He should be around 28 at that time. The one with that high note (falsetto ?) in "Please Don't Go Girl" is Jordan Knight. He's also the lead singer for their song "I'll Be Loving You Forever".

This is my favorite boyband. Since I was 8 years old back in 1988 lol...you should check out more of their music they have so many great songs! Jordan Knight does the falsetto voice. You should react to I'll be loving you forever. They are still together btw. I'll be seeing them in June I'm so excited for it! And Joe McIntyre can still sing this song as an adult but of course he doesn't sound like a kid lol

Maurice Starr managed New Edition. He wanted to put together another Boston area band of white boys. He said he wanted a "white New Edition" to capture the hearts of young girls and New Kids were born. They weren't doing very well until they sang at the Apollo. That spot launced their careers big time. If you weren't around in the late 80's you can't begin to understand their popularity. No other boy band has come close to them in popularity. From New Edition, Bobby Brown went solo, and 3 of them became Bel Biv Devoe. NKOTB still tours over 30 years later. Takes me back to 1988. Back when I was first introduced to new kids. I am now about to turn 48 in a few months and I am still a proud blockhead. Seeing little Joey Joe singing, he looks so sweet and innocent , but has grown into such a fine man…. Seeing him perform it live is even better! as for new edition, or Bobby Brown reference, of course, it’s gonna sound similar in a lot of their songs because of them having the same producer in the beginning. I also loved that performance they did together on the award show.

They all, except for the youngin’ Joey, went to school together (in a rough area of Boston.) The man who put New Edition (also from Boston) together also helped them get started and produced their music (he also brought in Joey.) It’s always crazy to me when people know Mark Wahlberg (formerly Marky Mark) and not Donnie. Donnie’s been mega famous since he was a teen and launched his little brother’s career (and also has a acting career of his own.) Wild.

I was in 6th/7th grade when this came out and I instantly Loved it still do and their new stuff…. AS I came out at around the same time as Gay and had a crush on Joey….check out their new song “Boys in the Band”.

They all went to elementary school together except for Joey. Initially Donnie and his brother Mark were in the band which was being put together by Maurice Star. Donnie recruited his buds from school....Danny, his best friend, and brothers Jordan and Jon. Mark ended up leaving and they wanted to add a young kid to the group and that’s when they found little Joey who was from another town hut had a reputation as a performer.

Reason why there are no more songs like this now is that the majority of songs are written by by a couple of song writers. look up Max Martin and that is why he just knows the formula and every song now is generic and has been for 20 years.
