Took me a while before I decided to buy this last year. I gotta say it's all worth it! It's not the most comfortable, but it's enough for me to wear it for hours without feeling uncomfortable at all. Sound quality and ANC is top notch as well!

Its always important to try out the product before committing to it. Each person will prefer one thing over another. Everyone will hear something different when they put on headphones so its up them to see what they like. I personally have tried both the Bose and the Sony and find they are very similar in sound quality but I got the Sony's simply because they were on sale for 196$ If you are thinking of making a purchase find out what suits you. Better for someone else may not be better for you.

Thanks for a great review, I really enjoyed it. I particularly enjoyed the part about the sound characteristics. I do have a question though. I'm wondering if the ambient sound level can be adjusted by the up-and-down volume controls? I think it might be neat, four instance, to be able to tone down a really loud environment, without blocking it out altogether. Thanks in advance for looking into this.

thanks, there really is no way to adjust those settings although that would be really nice. there are only two modes (ambient and voice)

The downfall w/ these is the headband cracking. The 1000x m2 supposedly fixed that issue and it has a 30 hr battery.

i actually prefer the sound on the Crusher simply because of the bass which gives most music more life. the Sony's are no slouch by any means but there is just something about the Crusher Wireless I like better

Gamesky, listen man. I generally agree with your opinions, but there's one thing I cannot agree with: the sound quality on these vs the Bose. Although you are true, they have a more fun sound signature (which is what I enjoy as well), the Sony are not too clear. The Bose blow them out of the water in terms of clarity! When it comes to bass, the 1000x are indeed punchier, but not by much IMO. I personally though the Bose are better overall considering the ENTIRE spectrum of the sound quality. Unless I got a "defective" pair. Bruh, I got both and am trying them back-to-back to find out which is better. I WANT TO LIKE THE SONY BETTER, I REALLY DO!!! I honestly want to avoid jumping on the Bose bandwagon, but I gotta say Bose really earned their reputation. I have to return one of them within the next week, so please let me know what you think.

I now use these and the AirPods. Tossed my Beats and all the other junk i have. There is a little pressure on the ears but I'm sure its no different than any other NC headphones. I can still wear these for a couple hours and they make a world of difference for my situations on needing silence

I feel AirPods and the Sony completes my days in the focus and gym aspects which is what i care about. AirPods are great but apple doesn't provide AppleCare for them for a reason. You have 3 little batteries to deal with so enjoy them while they last but one day youll be spending cash to continue the addiction. I'm ok with it. I'm single and i have money.if i lose them, id go and buy them all over.

Tried both before I bought the Bose at Christmas. Friend at work went the Sony and now on comparison is taking them back. The Sony has more widgets....but the Bose sound better. The Bose has a better presentation. The bass of the Sony is bloated and muffled...and the treble is quite harsh for long listening The touch sensor on the Sony is annoying. A fantastic concept, but in reality it's quite hit and miss...the sensitivity is not quite accurate enough. The Bose active noise cancelling goes around 5db lower, but also its passive noise cancelling is better. Combine these two and the Bose noise cancelling is still the best...not by much though. Comfort wise...Bose, hands down. One thing the Sony doesn't do is cause as much pressure on the ear as the Bose do. This is probably why the Bose blocks out just a bit more noise than the Sony. It took me about a week to get used to the pressure effect of the Bose, but now I don't even notice it. Some people hate the pressure though, if that's the case, then the Sonys are the best choice for you. Styling wise, the Sony is made from far nicer materials, but I think the Bose are aesthetically more pleasing. The reviewer here says that the Sony don't stick out...I beg to differ there. The cups and the high looped band stick out quite a bit. This will,come down to your head shape I guess, but the Bose sitting a little flatter. The Sonys come close and it's good that Bose have some competition, but the Bose still rule in early 2017.

M E P R wow, totally understand the comfort of the QC 35 but in no way is the sound better with the Bose. The MDR 1000x has such a better sound signature, they pick up more details in the low and high end. Very rarely do ANY of the reviewers like the Bose sound over the Sony MDR 1000x, but of course there are outliers.

Gamesky Both headphones are good. I give the edge to Bose QC35 because it's #1 in comfort and it's lighter. Sony MDR-1000x got better build quality and features but comfort and weight more important. Beats Studio 2.0 is the worst headphones for comfort and for that reason i stop using it like i use to. My ears touch inside the ear cups and hurt pretty bad after 10-15 minutes

I think the 1000X sound brilliant. Comfort- NO, at least for me it was no comfort. After an hour, it felt heavy and burdensome. I had to xchange for the QC35 which sound average at best. No lows no mids must be Bose applies imo. However I love NC headphones and use it all the time so comfort wins over sound.

After a lot of testing the flat and rather dull sound of the QC35 got to me. Final exchange ( I swear)- got the Sony MDR-1A. Now that is headphone with some dynamics and comfort just have to deal with a wire.

Noise cancelling and overall features, I would have to agree with you that the Sony's are amazing. However in terms of comfort the Sony's are not even in the same arena as the Bose. Sony = Amazing features, Amazingly uncomfortable. I retuned my Sony's because the ear fatigue and the pressure along the jaw was simply too much to ignore. :(

Yea, the sound leak is real, also I experienced the creaking issue with the right headphone. The creaking issue is kind of annoying, it's the plastics rubbing against each other, it sounds like rice krispie popping. Go to reddit and read this issue which is apparent in mostly all the headphones, no way to fix the issue unless you baby powder or carefully sand down the plastic or just ignore it. The sound was actually pretty great in regard to bluetooth headphones, but didn't get a chance to try the LDAC feature since I don't have a Sony Player/Phone. I owned these for about 2 weeks and returned them, so if anyone has any questions about them, ill do my best to help.
