Nice review! A few clarifications, you can set any of the three tracks to either arpeggiate or step sequence, and swing isn’t implemented. Also we have replacement enclosures available for your old QuNexus, check the parts page on our website.

For the past five years, I've been using this controller as my backpack controller. It's been instrumental in crafting numerous beats that have been successfully placed and featured on major label artist projects. I use it with my MPC or Reason/laptop. I was able to update and install a fresh red shell housing as my old one started to degrade and become sticky also. This controller is irreplaceable to me, but I would consider an upgrade if a 2.0 version introduced certain features. First, I'd like to see notes illuminate on playback while using my MPC, Reason, and Logic. Second, the integration of a USB-C connector. Finally, the addition of Bluetooth functionality. These upgrades, in my view, would significantly augment its versatility and user-friendliness and be worthy upgrade.

Can I use QuNexus to replace the functions of a mod-wheel? I record into Logic Pro using a digital piano, (Korg D1),

Nice one, thanks for the review. I think KMI need a marketing overhaul as their stuff is great but their branding is not very professional overall. I have 2 x old QuNexus (QuNexi?) keyboards bought cheap, used and sticky, but hey, they're wonderful now for using standalone with multitimbral synths. BTW the MIDI cable is *mini* USB in case someone gets confused over which cable goes where. KMI also offered a stickers + MIDI cable package to convert old black ones, but postage to the UK for me was around $70 for two cables so no go there! Good to see that right-angled (or is it left-angled? I can never remember) micro USB too. I've just discovered some angled coiled 1m USB cables which really click in and stay in. If they supplied decent cables and more user-friendly experience online and with their software, they would be seen on-stage I'm sure.

Yeah I was a little surprised at how bad their website is, not the easiest to navigate and super cluttered and unorganized looking.

I bought the replacement enclosure - definitely worth it as the key definitions for the shift functionality has all changed. I use it to control a modular when I am developing patches - big downside to this is you must use a USB plug due to grounding issues when connected to a computer. It's a shame since you really need to use the software for ease-of-use and you can't when using CV.

Good explanation. Just want to be sure.. Can you set the tracks to a specific midi channel? And can you set the channel without hooking it up to a computer?

Thanks for this. Do you know if you can swap midi channels on the keyboard hardware easily without software?
@tarekith3 жыл бұрын
I know you can change the channel for each track of the sequencer from the hardware, but I’m not sure if you can do just the keyboard that way. The manual is on the KMI site though, so easy enough to look up if you wanted.

@@tarekith Yes, RTFM ;) It seems it can do this which is great. Now I just have to convince them to release a black one. That red one just reminds me of the toy keyboard I had when I was 6 years old... :)
