you made the right decision to buy a new machine. I up graded my 16' 259d in the end of 2018 and had the exact same thoughts you are having. Now it is 2021 and the new 18' 259d needs tracks and stuff fixed and we had it all fixed for $7,600.00 and decided to keep the machine at 966.hrs this time instead of trading it off like last time.

I bought a new svl95-2 from ginops Williamsburg last year. . .been a great machine so far , we really like it. Ginops has been awesome for us as well, we've had a few little things & some of the updates & they had us in & out very fast .

I was looking at used skid steers this spring and for just a little bit more I could get a new one. So that’s what I did. I went with the Kabota svl 75-2.

I agree with you, 1,400 hrs it shouldn’t of needed rollers, pins and bushings, sprockets. Tracks sure but not anything else. Hopefully the new one last longer. I’m used to getting 4,000-5,000 hrs on a set or rollers, sprockets and pins and bushings. I’ve seen a few 90-2’s also develop cracks in the booms. The new models put larger bracing at the weak spots so they look like they fixed that issue.

Much like @ a car dealership they give a fairly high trade in because they sell the new product @ full retail..but that benefits you because you wouldnt get much if you sold it in its current condition and it didnt make good financial sense to stick that much in the machine. They will sell it @ wholesale price but they will still be making a decent profit so it is good for both parties. I have 2015 90-2 with 109 hrs and was discussing it with one of my customers when he told me that he had just bought a new 95-2 himself. He said that the dealership had set down on 71K as the no-trade price.....he told the saleman that he was going to purchase a similar size machine from the Bobact dealer down the street for 61K (it was a fable) and walked. 2 hours later they called him and capitulated and agreed to the 61K....and is was a hi-flow to boot. However he had agreed to purchase some impliments also so I am sure the gooned him pretty good on them to make up for the huge discount on the machine. Look forward to reading your commnts on the new machine ...might upgrade myself in the near future...congrats..

I agred with your philosophy on the old vs new with something that has to run for daily use. I went from cat to the SVL95 two years ago and it was a solid decision. I am more than happy with mine. Also went from a cat 304 to a KX57 before that and will argue for the KX57 with anyone in that comparison. The SVL95 is a Hoss you will be happy with it.

Thanks for watching! Super happy with the 95 so far. Way more quiet than the 90 and seems to have quite a bit more power too.

Occasionally I get tempted by the smell of new paint, but I'm waiting to see what Tier IV morphs into. Right now I feel they're patching stuff in to meet requirements, much like the 70s/80s automobile market. Lots of guys I know have had considerable difficulty with emissions engines, mostly electronic and fuel related, and multiplying in the winter. Eventually I feel they'll get to where the car market is now, combustion chamber will make diesels burn very clean. As much of my work is a considerable distance from anything like service/repair, I'm compelled to keep it simple, older equipment that may need attention from time to time, but doable in the average small town shop if I can't DIY it. You get much past Y2K, most smaller shops aren't able to do a guy any good. If I were to consider a new skiddy, the Kubota or Takeuchi would be it, and Tak seems to have some strong design features in their hoes, too. Thanks for a peek at the new 95, I've heard they're a workhorse, and I sure like the idea of the excavator-style front glass. Had opportunity to run a Volvo MC135, it has an excavator-style cab. Good and bad about it, but the cab sure provides great ease of access.

Hey Kyle, in your harley rake video you mentioned a FFC soil conditioner, i'm about to pull the trigger on one but have a couple questions on it. How have your teeth lasted on yours? Are they replaceable or does the drum have to be replaced when they wear down or break? Thanks!

Never had to replace them on the old one. They were still in excellent condition. The new one is the same. Never broken a tooth on a harley rake to this day - let alone barely wore them down.

I'm seriously considering the exact machine here in North TX. Our avg. high temp in August is 97 degrees so A/C is a huge concern. Any thoughts on cab cooling on 100 degree days and access to Evaporator and Condenser screen/ filters? Otherwise, I'm definitely leaning towards Kubota. I appreciate your insight. Yes, get an image stabilizer for 100 bucks from Amazon. Congrats Kyle.

What's your thoughts on leasing? Get a new one every 3years
@AveryExcavating5 жыл бұрын
For me I think that's a good plan. Having new equipment that runs and has warranty has helped productivity significantly. This one has 1500hrs warranty on the tracks even. Everything else is covered (rollers, drives ect and all) up to 3000 hrs. Ginops has been excellent to work with and all my guys love the kubota skids.
@geobert76375 жыл бұрын
I was going to buy a new t595 but the more I think about it I think a lease sounds good. You don't have to worry about depreciation, or selling when you want to get a new one, little or no cash down. Smaller monthly payment. With these high cost of maintenance and emissions and electronics it's almost a no-brainer. Or you can buy out at the end of lease. I just have to find out the hours they let you put on it and what happens when something gets damaged

Congratulations on your new machine! I put a fair amount of time on an SVL 95 myself last year doing forestry mulching (go easy on me, it was my first time with a mulcher). kzbin.info/www/bejne/hXPbnJ6NaJira5I I still think Takeuchi skidsteers are a little better suited for the type of work I do. Kubota skidsteers have several small differences from the Takeuchis that sway me towards Takeuchi as far as operator preference goes. We currently have a TL10V2 on RPO, but we are debating on stepping it up to a 12 after I got my heavier gooseneck to haul it on. That being said, Kubota definitely is still a good machine that does have its advantages. I like how they have a very strong lift capacity in a more compact package when compared to a TL12. I’ve been pretty happy with both Wolf Kubota and Alta Equipment, so dealer support for both is excellent down here in the Holland/ GR area.
