Today the crew is tackling this residential spring cleanup that a lot of you guys might remember from a fall cleanup 18 months ago! Last time we did this, we got our butts handed to us!
This year we we're able to knock out 85% of the property in just 1 work day, thanks to the BillyGoat P2000. It's insane having a machine like this on a job site like this one where it shined perfectly.
We'll give you an update tomorrow on finishing up the rest of the job including sucking up over 100+ yards of leaves compacted and reduced to about 30, insane.

This cleanup is HUGE! What would you guys charge for it? Lot of you said $2,500 last year. We're doing a huge renovation cleaning up the whole place, so by the end of the week we'll probably have around $5k charged for cleaning this place up (trees, leaves, branches, and so much more!).

For myself and my helper I would be right in that 5k neighborhood for a solid 5 days. Plus dump fees. That blower is sweet! I used my new ferris fb3000 this week on big clean-up, prune, edge and mulch job. Finished our 5th load at 345 today. 10 yds/ load. March Mulch Madness!!!

Hey Brian, I just want to send a big thanks from here on the east coast of Canada. You have provided me with the information to bring my business into high gear and allowed me to purchase my first enclosed trailer, a nice blacked out edition 7x14, we have all brand new gear ready for any job and I'm looking at pulling over 100K by myself in my 3rd year, pushed my prices up 15-20%, you are the man for business advice and made everything so much better for me, I hope you have a great 2023 season. And I'll see you in the fall when I will finally have some free time 😂😂

That was a huge cleanup and that billy goat is clutch. It would definitely save some time on those large cleanups where people wait till all the leaves fall to do anything. Clients yards are fine because you just mulch them or clear them on a weekly or biweekly basis. It’s the non-client yards where this would be super handy for me. I plan on buying a debris loader setup for this fall, but we will see! Love the content man!

That’s looks like the majority of my cleanups up here in northern Michigan. We still have snow on the ground but hopefully that will change in the next 2-3 weeks. The stand on blower saves so much time and energy.

I wouldn't rent a chipper unless you have a large pile of branches that you couldn't haul away in your truck or open trailer. Small chippers are slow depending on size of branches and large chippers are very expensive to rent. If you use an open trailer, you can get a lot of branches on it if you stack it correctly.

last fall I bought a cheap Chinese chipper (drum type) has a 15 hp honda clone engine. 6" capacity for $1k out the door. that thing has saved so much time and reduced trips to the dump. you can pull it with the mower or push it by hand. I bought six 96 gallon rolling dumpsters and blow the chips into them.

I rented a large chipper from a rental store. (Not sure what sizes home depot had to offer.) Had a 12in opening w/9" max throat, which we tested one time with a 7in dia tree. Amazing the power with auto start/stop on the conveyor. This was a 4hr rental for $260. This chipper kept up and Well worth it in my eyes. So the rental store is where i would look. They currently have a 6" for 200 for a half day.

Few questions. On a site this big why now bag with your big mower then suck up with the goat? why did you go with the smaller stand on blower over a bigger unit? Last one. Why not go with a multi force unit where you could run it year round? Thanks for your time.
@BriansLawnMaintenance
@BriansLawnMaintenance 2 жыл бұрын
The leaves are really matted down here, super wet. The mower wouldn't of been able to get probably 70%+ of the leaves. Rob did try, but we just realized it was more productive with the Billygoat and 2 leaf blowers going.
@BriansLawnMaintenance
@BriansLawnMaintenance 2 жыл бұрын
And the MultiForce is great for their leaf blower, but I wanted a dedicated machine in this regard. The MF will be busy on other projects and sites and I just didn't want to have to retool it a bunch of times.
@sethrosson9557
@sethrosson9557 2 жыл бұрын
So you found the CFM this machine put out is more then enough for your area and clean ups? Im out of tulsa ok. And i can justify the 13k model. But the multi force and the model you purchased make some since. I just like the idea that that multi force wouldn't be sitting during mow season like the billy goat would for me. Thank you for your time. Keep up the good work
@BriansLawnMaintenance
@BriansLawnMaintenance 2 жыл бұрын
Yeah I mean I think it’s just personal preference. I wanted to keep the Multiforce tooled for mulch and mowing personally. I don’t think there is any wrong or right answer, any way to cut it it’s all super productive / great machines.

Great cleanup job overall really looks good me personally I would probably invest in my own chipper shredder Maybe something used if you could find something that’s reasonable that still works well, but If not I would hire somebody locally like a professional tree service that has a chipper shredder and have them come on site and do it for me I think you would probably come out about the same either way maybe even save a little bit just a thought. I don’t know what your burn codes are like in Michigan but down here in Georgia we’re allowed to burn from October 1 to May 1 and when I have a lot of leaf cleanup and lots of limbs I just make one big localized pile and burn them.😳💯🔥🔥🔥😝😉😋
@ryerob741
@ryerob741 2 жыл бұрын
leaf burning is pretty much discouraged in metro Detroit areas...we recycle our leaves by dropping off at recycling centers where they charge a fee of like $15 per cu.yrd. to dump, then they shred/compost and turn the leaves for 3 years...then sell it back to us as compost/garden soil for like $40 per cu.yrd.... I'm in the wrong business!
@ryerob741
@ryerob741 2 жыл бұрын
also if you see the vacuum on the truck/trailer...that device will shred up the leaves into a nice little pile of dusty shards as it sucks the leaves thru...same for the bagger/vacuum device on the mowers....so in the end those leaves are condensed down to about as small as they can get!
