Saw this chassis at SEMA. It’s a fantastic setup but for some of us, the $100k price tag will mean it’s going to be years of saving before we can afford one.

Hopefully the production will lower that price, I fully understand the price tag though, between engineering R&D and basically being an OEM level manufacturer in the construction and custom part implementation/creation... Honestly they must be expecting to move a fairly decent number of these to be able to offer a starting price that low and stay viable... Hopefully the wealthy guys will buy plenty to lower the price for us plebs! 😉👍

They're not going to be pumping 10's of thousands out per year to get some good amortization of tooling costs. It's a silly company and a silly plan meant to sell chassis to other companies who need to make SEMA show trucks.

I have a 79 C20 and 88 K5 as well as a 2020 fully loaded 2500hd duramax. I paid $68k for the 2020 totaling less than $80k with tags, licensing, extended warranty, and what I paid in interest for 15 months with dragging out paying it off. I was going to pay cash but bought 3 months before I had all the funds. While I loved driving my square bodies, my body issues and middle age really like the modern quiet and comfortable new truck with 18k towing capacity with the duramax that gets 20 mpg unloaded in the san Diego area. The setup in the video is perfect for people with deep pockets and a love for old trucks, but it isn't budget friendly for the average person.

Living on a ranch in Arizona we have lots of old 4X4s Broncos Landcruisers you know want the best thing about a 69 Ford F-250 truck is? It has nothing modern in it, we wash it out with a garden hose. But if you really don’t need four wheel drive you wouldn’t know

As a guy who owns a Squarebody, the existing truck is damn near perfect. I have no issues with the frame or it's ability to drive/haul reasonable amounts daily. Mine is LS swapped (LM7/4L60E), has some minor upgrades (Borgeson box, Bilstein shocks, all new moog bits.), but unlike some of my old GM iron, like my '63 Impala Vert, or my C1/C3, that needed a new frame (especially that X-Frame, thank you Schwartz Performance), Squares drive really well. No, it's not my W212, but it's a truck. Not a sportscar. It's taken me cross country many times. Comfortably. I saw this at SEMA and thought cool... For the guy building a six-figure show truck. My biz partner and I both thought it was nifty, but... The beauty of a square is that they drive really, really well. Unlike my old work/shop truck, a '53 Chevy.

Only question I have is will the average household be able to afford something like this, or will it only be some dude making 250k a year.

I gotta admit, it is cool, however the nuances and pain in the asses are part of the beauty of these old trucks/cars. Less than thirty years ago almost everyone could drive a stick and tune a carb. Now, most can't drive a standard and good luck finding an old guy that can properly tune a carb and set a idle arm. These vehicles were daily drivers for years until about a decade ago when we slowly forgot how to maintain our cars. Said as my daily driver is a Chevy Sub K2500 with 454 and my weekend car is a 78 Z28. My brother's daily is a 85 K10 350SBC, and my dad's daily is 73 K20 with 454.

I've got a few old Squarebody's daily driving a Ls swapped 82 Gmc c10 Shortbed. Just installed a "new" steering column. Searched for 5months to find a good matching column only to have the same problem. It'll turn on the power but not engage the starter so push button start it'll be 😂 I'll figure it out later

I daily a long wheelbase 74 k10 on 35s. Some would probably consider it high maintenance but it’s dead reliable just have to replace worn parts occasionally. Not much I can’t/haven’t rebuilt in my driveway over the years. I’d be so spoiled with one of these beauty’s.

They didn't even mention one of the coolest aspects of a modern fully boxed and laddered frames like this: stiffness! Those original, simple chassis were floppy like overcooked pasta. This one is stiff as any modern truck. You can tell when during the slow-mo video of him drifting it offroad: no chassis shake, no bed twisting and undulating separate from the front of the truck, none of that. This stiffness would be apparent while driving when there's no squeaky noises, the ride would be nice and smooth, the truck would track nice and straight through mid-corner bumps and pavement irregularities, going over washboard dirt roads, and over things like railroad track crossings.

I’m 27 years old. I drive a 78 C10 Bonanza. I have been looking for something like this. Something that has more power than what I’ve got. Running a Holley 4150 on it. Before my C10 I had a 87 K20 Scottsdale. Had power. Drove it from WA to MO no problem. I’d buy this chassis. Come out with it!

I’d love to see something for a dent side Ford. It would be awesome to ditch the over-sprung rear end and twin I beams and be able to have something that, like you guys said, I can drive every day and use like a modern vehicle. I wouldn’t even ask for a ford power train. Keep it simple and use the same proven package, but just tweak dimensions to suit fords, dodges, jeeps, etc.
