Thanks for showing what you are doing and working on; It is pretty cool! My Burb is a '90 that I put a Cummins in this year. I have a lot of work to do still. I have two questions. Did you buy a kit for the rack or did you do it from scratch? Also, I noticed a pivot bracket on your stabilizer arm so as the axle goes up the stabilizer doesn't bind (I guess?). Is that something you made? Mine doesn't have anything like that but it would be cool to have/make one if you could supply any details that would be wonderful.

Recently bought a 1990 V1500 and want to lift between 2-4inches, the darn rear sagging like a soggy pamper! Do you recommend the ORD shackle flip? What brand/size are your barn door gas struts? Genius idea. Mine is also red...mad inspiration!
@Full-sizeFabrication10 ай бұрын
Honestly of I did mine over, I would just have replaced the factory leaf pack with an aftermarket lift leaf. I installed the 4" shackle flip and it didn't quite lift it 4". My rear leafs were also really worn out so I ended up doing leaf swaps anyway. Glad my burb can be some motivation! Send me a message on my Instagram page @fullsize_fab about the gas prop setup!

You did a lot of useless mods and did not do things you need to do. The ls swap time and money could have been used for many other things I see missing on this vehicles particular purpose. Absolutely NOT putting you down, just pointing out what I see.
@Full-sizeFabrication11 ай бұрын
I don't think the mods were necessarily "useless". Are there some that are impractical, yes. But the plans for the vehicle have changed over the years and they will continue to change. The ls swap was the best option at the time and wasn't that expensive to do. The original engine and transmission were tired and I just so happen to have a 5.3 powertrain ready to go.
