Dimensions are in fact very similar to Audi Q2 except for wheelbase which is 20mm less. People buy Lexus for built quality, customer service and reliability. If you wish to own/lease a car that is likely to be unreliable in the long run then by all means get a VW/Audi/Evoque/Merc etc :) If you appreciate peerless reliability, low depreciation and easy resale after 10 years then get a Lexus and purchase it with cash!

Hi, random internet person here, I have a Yaris Cross in the Premiere trim and was looking at the LBX as a change in the next few months. My only gripe with the Yaris is the engine, it goes like a stabbed rat up to about 40 mph but then quickly runs out of puff. If the LBX had been significantly more powerful I'd be interested but a second off the 0-60 isn't much of an improvement. I'd look at the Yaris tbh or wait a bit, I think Toyota is refreshing the Yaris with a bigger engine model this year which I'm more interested in. Anyway just my 2 pence! Have fun choosing 🙂

Test drove takumi design yesterday. Quite a nice ride around town. Was more responsive than expected with a little more grunt than some reviews led me to believe. A little less so at high speed. Some things I didn’t like? Well I did not like the steering wheel at all. Very cheap look and feel with terrible capacitive touch controls. The sound system, despite being the premium version, did not sound great and too front focused. Positioning the sound in the settings does not improve things and in fact made things worse. Vibrations were an issue even at relatively low volume. It also feels quite a lot smaller inside which I did not expect. The good? Well the equipment is great. Wireless Apple CarPlay works really well, it’s comfortable and effortless to drive. I do feel it’s still a bit on the expensive side for the higher trim levels but there was a lot to like and im still considering a purchase….

Informative review, but spare me the attempt to differentiate it from the Toyota Yaris Cross , especially in it's latest 130hp guise with a similar power pack. The only significant technical upgrade, it seems, is the wider track, benefitting handling. The rest is in the smarter cabin. Some of us, who are getting on a bit, are more interested in whether we and our (fewer) passengers can see out all round, than the distractions of screens with complicated programmes. And some of us who live in areas with potholed, off camber roads want to know whether the suspension/ground clearance can cope with anything other than the odd kerb at the Waitrose car park. At least it can tow something (but less than the average compact saloon), unlike the Honda HRV. At what point does a smallish SUV become simply a styling/branding exercise, rather than offering additional functionality? (PS. I've just seen that Yaris Cross 130 prices start at £31000, so the 'luxury' Lexus badge may actually cost less!)

I'm glad it has bucket seat with a separate head rest. I hate those SUV with molded headrests. SUV are not sports cars which is the only place for that type of seat.

The Range Rover Evoque should float my boat, small luxury and able to handle me being a nob with it off road. However its too big and unreliable with a silly interior. This fixes all the issues I have with the Evoque.... Sign me up!
