What’s the long term review on the helmet. Do you like it? I usually requires a large helmet which results in a mushroom look but I like the looks and size of the Protone.

It’s very very good, however the clasp clicks when I tilt my head back - where it’s moving between settings on the part that drops and tightens on the back of your head. Very annoying when on the drops or tri bars or moving between. Its a touch heavy too (but I was spoiled before.) Other than that I love it. I will get round to making a full video at some point, but I’ve been injured and not riding for a year or so!

@@TheAverageCyclist sorry to hear of your injury! Hope you're getting close to healed. Thank you for the info. The back of head setting might not be too much of a deal breaker for me as I rarely ride in the drops and do not have tri bars. I'll have to give it some more thought. Appreciate the quick feedback and best of luck to your recovery!

hey mate, I got the exactly 58 cm head size like you and would prefer a large for better looks. how tighten can you the large protone ? how much room do you have to get to the smallest setting ? I have a specialized propero 3 and there is basically no end to tighten the helmet and make it fit smaller, hope thats the case with the kask too. thanks

Hi mate, just checked, and it far from tightens to no end. Without a cap on, it doesn’t tighten much more than the setting I have it on before it stops. Hard to say how much, about 0.5-1cm

Why black? It should have bright colors so that car drivers can easily see it.

Yeah...you’re probably right. I do always ride with a bright rear light, and never ride at night though.
