@JRINASIA I get the picture of Duma too many expats with xpat problems to much complaining and I come here to get away from a lot of expats in one area attracts cheap girls scammers and some shit expat characters I came here for better peaceful life my people are the locals .not so much foreigners otherwise I'd stay in west with all bullshit but now a lot of west bullshit coming to the Philippines I'm just being truthfull and the reality what's happening in the Philippines now

Good luck to Jay. I get it, he's taking advantage of the best of both worlds. The US has better income opportunities, healthcare and schools, to name a few. My Medicare advantage plan reimburses emergency medical internationally and real estate is a good inflation hedge. Planning on my costs doubling every 10 to 20 years and living to 100.

With the IT evolution I expect the Philippines will attract more digital nomads (which I suppose Jay isn't) who are Jay's age or even younger. This will also change the dating scene, which will probably look much different 20 years from now. Not for us oldies to worry about anymore, but I'm sure that by that time there will be whole different dating dynamics.

I see a trend by expats no longer trying to be minimalist here in the Philippines. Buying properties, vehicles, and shipping belongings here. Having children in retirement years and even financing cars and properties as seniors. Not sure why this attitude change is occurring? Any thoughts?

What I've discovered here in Dumaguete is lack of professional builders. Many buildings or homes are downsized. The Jeppneys are smaller, trikes are smaller scale. I haven't seen a taxi.

Concrete blocks in the philippines are garbage ,there's not enough portland cement in the mix , their very weak it's more like crumble block lol . Cast in place, concrete forming is the way to go , in the long run it is much cheaper . house made of wood in the philippines won't be long lived , termites wet weather on and on , avoid wood if you can sir . just my option ,
