Hey scott, I've loved new life so it was sad to see it get less popular, but maybe if you do another one, you could try a gimmick where 1 mod is added every day for the entire series, this would be less overwhelming and let players gradually approach mods! Idk, maybe "Next Life"? Anyway, i can't wait for what you do next year! Have a nice 2023 lol

Glad to see everyone wrap up New Life in their own ways after all 💚 I really hope there will be a new season, because I like this type of origins series a lot. But I think it would help to streamline how active everyone is a bit more. Maybe take a few pages out of the 3rd Life/Secret Life series. Pick a day for everyone to be active and interact with each other. Generate a random 'arch enemy' along every origin roll, which encourages one player to try and cause harm to another, so that there is not such a mix of some players avoiding death for so long, and others artificially risking and shortening their lifes, so they get to the next origin.

I think the direction that these SMPs need to go is towards something somewhat linear. Pretty much all SMPs eventually die out from people losing interest over time. Hermitcraft is so successful in large part due to its seasons system, wiping and starting anew every year or so, but the average SMP that isn't as structured and well maintained needs more than just a wipe cycle imo. I think RatSMP, Witchcraft SMP, & Grian's Life Series have something key in common that aided their success: there's an end goal in mind. I think that's the hook that's required to keep everybody's attention when dealing with content creators. Your recent modded series have been really fun and have inspired me to build a modpack for my friends and I to do an SMP with, so thanks for the inspo :3

Does anyone else think that the origins mod would be great for enhancing the storytelling in Empires SMP if used appropriately? For example, what if Scott took an ice-themed origin during his Elsa arc or if Ocean Queen Lizzie took an aquatic origin after she transformed into an axolotl.

One of the reasons is this server cannot Handle Multiple players playing at once as it's very laggy & for some reason the viewers of many channels reduced too

I think it was just bad timing honestly, near the end of the year, everyone is burned out from a full year of making content, I say it would've been a good SMP to start at the start of the year where everyone is refreshed and more motivated.

From what I can gather, most of the members ran into performance issues from the get-go, they only got worse over time, and eventually made the SMP unplayable for anyone with a lower processing power computer (RIP Lizzy, she still tried). So a lot of the members either quit quietly (like Gem for example), or purposely got themselves k*lled until they ran out of lives (sausage). That’s the risk you take when you over-mod an SMP to the point of it becoming too voletile to play.
