Idk if others have commented about this but a hint for a big secret as you're getting through the second half of the game: you're going to want to thoroughly investigate the big tree in the Blighttown swamp on the end opposite Quelaaag's Domain. Look for multiple illusions.

Before doing anything else Mati, I highly suggest you clear the catacombs behind firelink, you REALLY need the item at the end of that dungeon. Just make sure to get a blessed weapon or upgrade the Astora's Straight Sword, otherwise, the skeletons gonna be a pain in the arse lol.

Tip for future fights - different shields and armor sets have different elemental/magical/physical defense. If you're ever struggling with an enemy, consider swapping out your gear for a set that gives you more defense against their main type of attacks. It's a much more useful mechanic in Souls than in the other games you've played so far :)

Also quick tip, I'd advise to put fire orb in your attunement slot, it's much better than fire surge and it can deal some good damage from range. Quite useful !

The Darkwraith grab doesn't do much health, but it steals your soft humanity. Also, the grab + shield is a weapon they drop that is awesome called the Dark Hand. You can use it on NPCs/other players to steal their humanity. It also doesn't make NPC hostile when you use it on them. Side note: Humanity also increases drop rates (up to +10 humanity) 10 soft humanity is the cap. Not sure if any one has mentioned that yet. I didn't mention it earlier, but you're pretty far a long now. Humanty can also increase the ATK/DMG of certain special boss weapons. My favorite weapon in the game does and it's from the Soul of Quelaag.

New Londo has no bonfire but there is a huge shortcut present. U can drop down coming from the side of Firelink Shrine from the top right corner of the first area where u fight first ghosts. It drops u almost in front of boss fog door, which skips most of New Londo. So, Firelink is best bonfire to start from though it might feel the side from Valley is short, which isn't. This shortcut can only be used after draining the water ofc for obvious reasons. Hope this helps anyone still haven't played or known this.

You can find siegmeyer in the swamp too and I recommend using resin to increase dmg to some bosses like dragons weakness is lightning.and pls play DS2 if you finished ds1 because you'll love it. And I you go to the tomb you will find a ring that if you wear near the bonfire in anor Londo the big statue near the bonfire it will open a secret door and you can hit it to have a boss fight that can give a armor

Four kings is definitely crazy. I’ve heard a lot of people call them a DPS check since if you do enough damage quick enough, you can just fight them one at a time. I have a tough time dodging them so I just put on a heavy armor set and swing as much as possible

You’re doing so well in New Londo Ruin, slaying ghosts & darkwraiths left, right & center.✌️ The game has so much to offer, but half of them are super missable. After my 1st play through, I had to look it up to know I shouldn’t have placed the Lordvessel before the Four Kings fight. That was how I missed this super important encounter (lore-wise). Started my 2nd play through right away, only to realize I couldn’t complete all the side quests I wanted with this one play through. So, 3rd play through here I come.🤣

1st Tip: try not to block so much because the enemys in late game hit hard so it will consume lots of stamina and some of them will hit multiple times so u wont have any stamina to roll. 2nd Tip: try practicing while using 2 hands since blocking wont work against some attacks. 3rd Tip:try not using the r2 attack too much since u wont have any stamina to dodge attacks. 4th Tip: try using another weapon because the claymore isnt that good for a late game weapon try inding a dark knight weapons bscause those weapons deal MASSIVE damage.

Don't worry about the crestfallen knight npc you fought. This is normal for him, this is what happens when you turned hallowed. He gave up and lost his humanity and now is a empty husk, he attacked you because you're not hollowed and still have a soul.

There are 4 black smiths in ds1, the Coals are divided into 4 categories. Physical Stat coals go to Andre, sorcery Stat coals go to the vinheim guy in new-londo, faith Stat coals go to the Giant Smith in Anor-londo, and pyromancy Stat coals go to the skeleton Smith in the catacombs. You haven't used any ascension yet but by giving the coals to the right Smith you can ascend any non-special weapon into a specific damage type to better fit your stats.

There are some... interesting mechanics in the Four Kings fight, so there's a (slim) chance one doesn't actually four wraiths but actually much more. Some players have tried different things and the record - as far as I know* - is to get 12 wraiths to spawn while killing 8 of them - which defeats the boss - in this boss fight. Also, one can finish the fight by killing just one wraith if the DPS is high enough. (It had something to do with how the boss hp bar was divided and the spawning speed of more wraiths when left "alive".) * A channel called Limit Breakers actually has a video called "How many KINGS can you spawn in the 4 Kings Boss Battle?"

You have to get the Nito Sword, doing a pact with him. When you're in the catacombs, look for a tomb with a titanite demon. There you will see an open casket. Enter it, wait a few minutes and you'll arrive at Nito's tomb. Make a pact with him and get the sword. Upgrade this sword to +5, you won't regret it. One note: To level up the boss swords, you will need demonic titanite. Only the blacksmith of Anor Londo can improve these boss swords.

Yaboi, the Crestfallen Warrior went hollow. You can be undead for a thousand years and still remain alive but you go hollow from losing hope and the will to live. When that happens you lose your sense of self and become a zombie, violently attacking people indiscriminately. The Crestfallen Warrior was like you and went on a journey to ring the bells. He came to the conclusion that it was impossible and set up at Firelink Shrine to judge those who took up the task and looked down on them for taking an impossible task so seriously. However, when you ring both bells he realizes that he was wrong and goes hollow.

The four kings are actually the antithesis of all dark souls bosses. They are in fact a DPS check with multiple bosses all sharing a large health pool. New kings will spawn in with in a certain amount of time until there are four on screen. The objective being to defeat the kings one after another before the next one spawns. They also do less damage the closer you are to them. This is literally a rush in and hit till it dies boss! So timing and running away do you no good. Even the aoe attack is better to block with a shield then to try and roll away from.

Tip for the Kings now you've fought them. Standing close to them. Their swords do considerably Less damage than being further away.

My boy you need cloranthy's ring, it boosts your stamina regen like your shield, it's on the great hollow, you get there taking a left on the swamp before queelag, just after you get down from blightown, you will not have a good time but it's worth it given you are using a lot of stamina, even better if you combine it with the grass crest shield!

You're reaching a stage of the game where people will mention the DLC arc. I highly recommend that you google how to get there before finishing the last boss, because it will be too late at that point. 25% of the game is in the DLC and it is considered the best part of the game by most.

Artorias was one of Gwyn's 4 most trusted and elite knights. He is famous for having traversed and conquered the abyss ages ago. We know that he is dead, since the ugly white cat in the forest told us so, we found his grave guarded by Sif, and acquired his ring which lets us traverse the abyss. This guy drops a hint that you need to "learn from him" -- that's a hint to the player that you can't fight the Four Kings without that ring, and also lets you know that this guy is not up on current events (he doesn't know Artorias is gone). I hope you'll do the DLC as well, since there's more about Artorias to be learned there. There's a reason he's a favorite character of many souls fans.
