Thankfully we don't just tear down perfectly good venues every few decades and build something new with mostly public money like some cities do. This is way more sustainable and a perfectly good solution. Not to mention its an iconic stadium.

really enjoyed this video. i am not a saints fan or hater but i appreciate what they mean to louisiana. i 💙 the superdome, with it's 1970's look and the storied history with all the events it's held. am glad it can continue to remain functional and relevant for many more years to come. just watching the video with the seating bowl, it gives me chills as the history and modernization blend so beautifully. i like how they kept the upper wall 1970's panels also. as a 50 year old i dream someday of visiting the superdome. cheers from southern ontario, canada 🍁

As a kid I remember seeing the Dome being built, rode my bike with friends down the Lasalle street side ramp until we would get run off by security, now I can't wait to see it for myself

It's like fixing up an old car. It looks nice all cleaned up with the bells and whistles but it's still an old facility. Should have torn it down after Katrina and build a fresh new state-of-the-art dome.

It’s New Orleans .. you don’t tear down things like the superdome ..its a icon…& it goes with the skyline .. 😊

@@larkt6693 I agree however that does not align with the point. They continuously renovate however there's only so much you can do. If you compare it to the new state-of-the-art stadiums it fails in comparison is the point I'm trying to make.

@@comment5398 Wow what a terrible idea, constantly tearing down perfectly good facilities just to build something a little more modern with billions of taxpayer dollars instead of making mindful, thoughtful, and more sustainable renovations like this. This constant strive for new is very wasteful and unnecessary, but American cities do it a lot these days....

@@comment5398 like I said it’s the superdome .. like the Empire State Building & Chrysler building in New York City. It doesn’t matter. It stays ..!!

Curtis and Davis designed a wonderful building. What the state has allowed to happen is disgraceful. Bathropom facilities are cheap and inadequate. Wasted so much space. A joke.
