I'm getting the AX5 in Jan. The drive was excellent, and the 1.2T provides a lot of power when needed. I test drove the AX7L and also found the drive assists annoying. My biggest issue with the car is the small boot. I think the closest competitor is the Citreon C3 Aircross which also has a 1.2T, and comes with the option of 7 seats. Meaning it has a lot of storage space. But 3XO feels more premium and has far better features than the other competitors in the same price range.

We bought the auto MX3 in December with a reverse cam and we are so happy with the car. I actually prefer the normal seat covers over the leather just because of the heat in SA…😅😅The auto is not jerky at all and a smooth ride… you also really get used to the stop start, the lower models don’t have all the bells and beeps, really a good buy. Also I wouldn’t even say it’s small compared to the fronx it’s actually bigger and has more headroom. Also allll the airbags for the low spec model is excellent… We really had such a hard decision between the Fronx GL and the Mahindra 3XO mx3 but so happy with our final decision…😊The ground clearance as well helps when my husband has to drive on gravel road…

You should mention that the MX range and non top of the line AX range does not have the stitching on the dash and door tops. And the top spec has a 65w USB C while the others don't have such a fast USB C. Also, the MX3 is a normal sunroof not this larger "panoramic" one. And only this top spec gets the Harmon Kardon. Also, did you check if the distance to the car in front can be adjusted for the adaptive cruise. All cars with adaptive cruise can do it. You should focus on telling people about what different models in the range omit so they can make better decisions on which model to buy.

So, I took a brand new demo model( 60kms on the clock) for a test drive Saturday last week. 2 Big guys up front and salesman in the back. Started off at 8km/l, however when we returned to the dealership, had improved to 9.2km/l. Based on this , I reckon 13-15km per liter is easily achievable if driven conservatively and at the legal limits. I was so impressed with the car, I've signed on the dotted line...get my nebula blue AX7L next week. BTW- The nebula blue is actually a far nicer colour in real life than what you see on vids/ pics. It really comes to life in the sun. Space inside is truly remarkable- once again, really impressive. Shout out to Jacob who gave an honest, entertaining review---it actually persuaded me to go for the test drive! ( Jacob- Mahindra owes you a finders fee bud!)

With the automatic you can’t use both the start-stop function and the brake hold. Once you stop the car switches off but when you take your foot off the brake for the brake hold to engage the engin starts up again. Test drove it twice, both salesman said it is possible to use both at the same time but no one could tell me how to do it. I eventually chose the Jetour Dashing 😁

Good presentation but quality of your info is becoming poor. The incorrect fuel consumption should have had a flash on the screen correcting the error that it's km/l and not l/100km. That's a serious misrepresentation. The interiors of the models are different - soft touch dash on AX7 only. Not that the other models are bad, but important information. The intrusive beeps won't be present on the lower spec models because they won't have those features. The sunroof size is different on the AX5 vs AX 7. Too much of "eish" and "haai" and not enough quality dialogue. Speak about ride quality, power delivery, if the gearbox changes are smooth, how the manual 'box fares, seat comfort, driving position. I don't thing the steering is Reach adjustable on any of the models - but I stand to be corrected. Important information a consumer needs to know. Or leave a link to a spec sheet from the manufacturer.

@cindyjoshua7367 No I disagree. My friends have a Tiggo 8 with the 1.6 turbo. For the first roughly 8000 kms they averaged 10.2. Not long after that barrier and 1 long road trip, the car started to average around 8.4. That's almost 2 litres less. The engine even felt more tractable especially after the first service. Toyota needs more engine refinement because our Ravs engine is noiser, less refined and heavier on fuel.

It's crazy how these small cars of today are terrible on efficiency. FYI, I drive a 2015 Audi SQ5 3L V6 and my avg is 8L\100km city and 6L/100km highway. If you are unafraid of buying a second-hand German car (like me), then it's worth considering as you can get one for the same R400k. Also, tech implementation is still done best by the older players (Western Auto Companies), the new players are still figuring things out, like ACC and proper lane assist. @jacob, I love your presentation style!!
