Important Note: We apologise but we made a mistake with the fuel consumption quoted in this video. The Mahindra is quirky in that it provides fuel consumption in km/litre, not L/100km. Jacob quotes 11.7L/100km, when the car was actually showing 11.7km/L. This converts to 8.5L/100km. It is also worth noting the car had just been through 2 days of intensive testing for our #CarsAwards, so the reality is with a more regular driving style and more open road driving, the consumption will most likely improve.

The fuel consumption from that car is diabolical, I can't lie. But the physical controls and the (supposed) interior build quality are pretty good. EDIT: It seems Jacob quoted the fuel economy, not the consumption. The figures are actually pretty good for the type of car this is.

Its 10l/100km nah...I took ride on it when I went to the mahindra se bakkie, I was nah..my 2013 renault sendero stepway is doing 7.6l/100km. Our work double cab does about 9l/100km

It's barely run in. And you can't judge fuel consumption from a short drive with a car that's been driven by multiple journalists.

@@Edog119 Look through the comments, they just corrected themselves. He was stating the number via km/L, not L/100km. He even added that the car went through intensive testing. You should test drive the car yourself and see exactly how "diabolical" the fuel consumption is

You should mention that the MX range and non top of the line AX range does not have the stitching on the dash and door tops. And the top spec has a 65w USB C while the others don't have such a fast USB C. Also, the MX3 is a normal sunroof not this larger "panoramic" one. And only this top spec gets the Harmon Kardon. Also, did you check if the distance to the car in front can be adjusted for the adaptive cruise. All cars with adaptive cruise can do it. You should focus on telling people about what different models in the range omit so they can make better decisions on which model to buy.

Barely run in and multiple journalists plus it was most likely idling quite a lot. You can't judge it based off this.

Even if it is barely run in.... It should only be about 0.5 better after the first service maximum 1.0 in rare conditions. Did the test with tiggo 4 pro, 7 pro even after software update, omoda and Renault Captur. Most Chinese brands and some Indian and others need some more engine refinement it seems

I test drove the AX7L and the 2 things that put me off: 1. Lag when pulling off from the robot. This car struggles to start going, I have to mention though that once it goes it can go jong. 2. With the automatic you can’t use both the start-stop function and the brake hold. Once you stop the car switches off but when you take your foot off the brake for the brake hold to engage the engin starts up again. Test drove it twice, both salesman said it is possible to use both at the same time but no one could tell me how to do it. I eventually chose the Jetour Dashing 😁

At 4:58 you say the car is economical then at 5:51 you say you just have to mention that the car gives 11lt/100km😂.... my sister's 2008 Hyundai atos is 50% more efficient. This Mahyndra is a great looking car but my 2008 Hyundai Santa fe 2.2crdi 4wd AT with bakkie wheels on gave me 10lt/100km and it's a muuuuuch better seven seater package. Anyways, I enjoy your videos a lot and watch them when I have time. Merry Christmas!🎉
