There is something incredibly luxurious about a bias cut garment. Same with a lined garnet. Stets your wardrobe aside from most home my garments. Lovely.

Hi Paula Lovely to hear from you. No need to apologise, I’m you’ve still been watching 😊 Thanks I really enjoyed trying my first bias cut garment and finding it wasn’t as daunting as I thought it might be! A crochet blanket to go in your orangery sounds really nice, I love the sound of those colours together, lovely and fresh. Hope you have a great week too xx❤️❤️❤️❤️

Lovely garments, Cath. It's always nice to see what you've been making. I really recommend the free Grasser 669 bias skirt for the next step up in your bias skirt making. You can make the version with just a single back seam, the elastic waistband finishing is neat, and the shape of the skirt is lovely.

Thank you so much. That’s brilliant to know about the Grasser 669 thank you, it looks like a great next option and amazing that it’s free. Thank you!

This was such an enjoyable video Cath. I love all your makes and what beautiful skirts you’ve made. The style and colour palette of the first one really suits you and I really love the style and fabric of your cross bias skirt. The drape is beautiful and looks equally beautiful on you. I’m looking forward to seeing how your blouse turns out and I always enjoy hearing about your knitting and crochet projects. I think with granny squares even if the fit is a little too snug it would be easy enough to remedy 😁 Have a lovely time with your friend this afternoon and a good week. Thanks for sharing 😊xx

Thanks so much Shelly! I really enjoyed trying a bias cut garment and I’m glad to have that skirt in my wardrobe now, it does have a lovely drape. I’m so glad you enjoy hearing about my knitting and crochet projects too. I really hope the granny square vest does turn out ok, it’s been really fun so far. Hope you had a lovely weekend and a good week too 😊 xx

I made a cardigan out of 78 granny squares. As Idid not like the look of crocheted ribbing I knitted the ribbing which looks very nice.
@andrearyan8167 күн бұрын
I was going to say the same, pick up stitches and knit the ribbing I think would work well.

Thank you, I hadn’t considered that option, that sounds much easier than fitting the neckband separately!

Your bias cut skirt turned out so nice. I was also concerned about the other bias cut skirt patterns being too tight, so I might try out the pattern you used. Your crocheted vest is so cute! I like the colors you chose. Thanks, Cath.

Love the bias cut skirt. When I saw the lovely crochet bags you made for your daughter and niece I made the decision to learn to crochet, joined a class , attended with a friend bought a kit but unfortunately the class only ran once.😢 Looking out for an established class.

Thanks for your video Cath. I love how much thought you put into your garments and how you explain your thought processes. I have started to stop and think more about my wardrobe too. I don’t know much about bias cut garments but I’m very intrigued now to investigate further. I was hoping to make a couple of summery skirts before we go on holiday so will look at the pattern you mention. Love all your other garments too, looking forward to seeing how the gingham top turns out.

Thanks for sharing Cath, your skirt is lovely. I made a toile of the SOI Selena skirt but struggled with attaching the elastic, the fabric was very slippery and difficult to control plus I probably should have sized down. Maybe I’ll have another try with a viscose or a crepe. 💙🧶🌈🍓
@madebycathcraft5 күн бұрын
Thanks so much Jenny. I haven’t come across the SOI Selena, I will look that one up. I think the viscose seemed to work well for a bias cut skirt, it wasn’t too slippery like I can imagine some fabrics might be 😊💜

I made the Blomma tank twice and one was too thick even for a rib. The other was softer and it was so successful. From memory I had to change the armhole slightly I’ve been wearing midi skirts this summer, even one I thought I didn’t like and subsequently made two more midi skirts. One of the skirts is leopard print and I’m really not sure I’ll wear it but also I think it’s not seasonal, more autumn colours we will see

I have the Fleur pattern but have yet to make it as I’ve been busy. I like the fact that it comes equipped with a different bodice for the sleeved and the sleeveless variation. That’s very thoughtful. Looking forward to seeing yours. I would love to learn to crochet but I just don’t seem to get it. It’s which stitch to go into next. I’m sure it’s easy when you get your head round it but there’s something I’m missing.
@madebycathcraft5 күн бұрын
I think the Blomma is really nice in a soft fabric! A leopard print midi skirt sounds great for autumn. Yes I really like that two bodices have been drafted for the Fleur tool. Very thoughtful like you say. I still find that the hardest part for crochet, knowing which stitch to work into. I’m gradually getting my head around it.

Cath, what is the name of the sewing pattern company you use for dresses etc for your daughter?
@madebycathcraft4 күн бұрын
I have recently used the ABB kids tee free pattern then added on a gathered skirt to make my daughter dresses. When she was smaller I liked Poppy and Jazz patterns but they only go up to 6.
