Love this in depth video! It’s so hard nowadays to find good YT tutorials with different eyeshadow looks based on one palette. I always end up running out of ideas when it comes to eyeshadow looks so this is definitely helpful ❤ will be purchasing this palette hopefully once it’s back in stock!

I bought this during the sale but had to hunt for it in stores because I debated too long and it sold out online. I bought it because of how neutral (everything turns orange on me) it is and for the shimmers. I pretty much agree with all your comments. Lol. And I also commented elsewhere that I felt it was a more pigmented version of Asian beauty palettes. I haven't bought eyeshadow a long time, but I'm glad I picked this up.

@@StacyChenBeauty not that I'm comparing the two palettes, but I also picked up ColourPop's fairy well palette for the same reason. Unfortunately, I don't love the formula, even for ColourPop. 🫤 It's not terrible, it's just a more dry and less pigmented than I was expecting. That's too bad because it's a beautiful colour story that leans neutral to cool, almost slightly green, with what could have been fantastic shimmer shades if they weren't glitters. It truly does give a fairy-like effect once I can actually get it on properly. Lol. Then I used Mario's palette and realized just how soft his mattes are. Truly great!

The comparisons are so good. I love glitter and sparkle, but I prefer a more colorful eye such as pinks, golds, and purples. So this palette is a pass for me … for now lol. Damage was already done during the Sephora sale, need to resist haha

Loved this video 🤍 wonder how the sparkly space-cowboy-like shade compares to ND Thrill and Babies and CT Sunlight Glow eyes to mesmerise / Rose Gold pop shot.

Oooh ok so TLDR: none of the shades u mentioned r really comparable imo, the closest is CT pop shot in rose gold but still not super similar! -vs. ND thrill: thrill is like a champagne gold to pink holographic shifty shimmer, which is v diff than MBM which is like a tan base with silver glitter. -vs. ND babies: also not similar, babies is a mauvey rose tone and also more metallic, less glittery -vs. CT sunlit glow: probably the most different lol this one is an interesting duochrome that’s like yellow gold to hot pink. (The pink is brighter than the ND thrill one) ya this one just looks nothing like it LOL -vs CT rose gold pop shot: most similar in the base color, like a bronzey beige BUT it is pinker than MBM ethereal eyes. Also the glitter content is not comparable, rose gold is a lot smoother and more opaque, still has glitters but waaaay less glittery and sparkly than MBM which is packed with silver glitter ✨

here r my thoughts!! TLDR: em cosmetics Rodin is warmer overall, shimmers more subtle -the mattes in Rodin are VERY similar to the 3 warmest mattes in MBM. So it’s basically like if u took only the warmer tones from MBM (MBM formula still better imo tho) -the shimmers in Rodin are lackluster in comparison to MBM, they’re more of a satin sheen. There is one more shimmery shade but it is very sheer AND not as shimmery/sparkly as MBM ethereal eyes, but if u prefer a more subtle look it could be a good alternative. -I think it’s a good “dupe the vibes” palette in terms of color story (I mean it’s a neutral palette after all lol) but nowhere near as sparkly!!

-Tartelette in bloom: I actually decluttered this palette LOL but from what I can remember & see online, color story seems quite similar! however a huge thing I remember is that the tartelette shimmers/metallics are a lot more subtle, more of like a satin sheen. That was the main reason I decluttered it, the shimmer shades didn’t have enough impact for me. But it u like that subtlety that could be a pro! Overall MBM glitters are waaaay more sparkly/shiny/impactful so u would get a more glam look, but color story is similar imo! -Em cosmetics Rodin: this is actually like if u took only the warmer tones from the MBM. It lacks the cool tones. Again, the shimmers are not as sparkly/impactful imo. So if u like the warmer side of MBM it’s a good color dupe but not formula dupe!!

Ooh great comparison!! so I just checked, and I think it is a good “dupe the vibes” alternative. The glitters r sparkly enough, altho the shades r a bit diff. And the Clio shadow gallery palette is also quite neutral. The biggest diff I would say is that the cool tones in Clio seem to lean almost greenish (lacking pink undertone) which is diff than MBM, which has more pinkish undertones in comparison. Like the Clio one seems like an olive toned version of MBM if that makes sense? Also the Clio one’s glitters are more opaque; MBM are more sheer in base pigment but packed with ton of sparkles. Hope that helps!!

The first palette similar with Makeup by Mario is Natasha Denona face and cheek palette five eyeshadows, one blush and highlighter. Same shades like this, but shimmers are more sparkle, not like in the Glam palette. ❤🙏

Hi Stacey: Excellent and thorough descriptions of dupes! Really appreciate the in-depth comparisons. I'm definitely looking for cooler toned pallets so this isn't the one for me. You'd likely get more newbies if your title was something like: Makeup by Mario Ethereal Eyes Palette | 18 Palette DUPES | 3 Looks” 12:04 Request: It would *really* help if you didn't quickly move your arm back and fourth so fast, almost like it’s twitching. It doesn't allow viewers to get a really good comparison when the arm is moving so much. Check out how Jen Phelps moves her arm and you'll see what I mean. It would also help in the long run to be accurate about color names, and the particular finishes, especially *because* you are being so thorough. There are no "glitter" or "glittery" shades in the Ethereal palette. This palette contains "sueded *matte*, natural *metallic*, and glossy *shimmer* finishes" (direct from their website). This means there are no *satin, glitter, duochrome*, or *multichrome* finishes-since these are the rest that are most common. There is also frost, lustre, marbled and brand niche types but they are more rare. There is “glitter” that looks like plastic particles that cause eye infections and then there are high shine metallic toppers and highly reflective shimmers. 9:54 You could up your game by saying “I’m going to go into my favorite shade which is "EE 6 Sandy Shimmer”. (beautywithholly website has accurate descriptions for example. They and bigapplebuddy list the shade names. They can be taped to the back of the palette for your reference if needed.) 10:06 Because EE 6 is officially a “shimmer”, it is not a “glitter topper” and they don’t even call it “metallic”. _Shimmer eyeshadows are characterized by their ability to catch and reflect light. Though not quite pearlescent, shimmer shadows are highly pigmented with an ever-so-slight sheen._ 10:41 EE 2 is Champagne Shimmer 10:56 is EE 12 is Neutral Rich Brown Matte Thanks for doing what you’re doing! Hope you’ll consider the suggestions. We need more Asian representation in the beauty review KZbin genre.

Hi Violet, thanks for taking the time to write out suggestions! However, I actually want to keep my channel more "casual" in style, rather than dissecting a palette/makeup. Of course, I try to be more helpful by providing detailed comparisons, but it's just not really my style to be SUPER scientific about it. I think most people would understand the gist of what I mean with the terminology I already use. Actually, even between brands they use differing terms for the same finish (or the same term for diff finishes). There is no industry “standard” and I have noticed many inconsistencies across brands. Therefore, I feel like the specific words for finishes themselves aren’t as important as the descriptive sentences used after (i.e. a metallic in one brand can have a diff finish than a metallic in another, so it’s more important to me that I describe how the shade actually performs rather than being perfectly “accurate” to the brand. The brand description is also not the end-all be-all of descriptions, color and texture is subjective to a degree). As for the arm movement, I was doing that to show how sparkly the shades are because you can't see it until the arm moves. But I can definitely move it slower in the future! All fair suggestions, but I still want to create content in my own style! 💖 P.S. my name is Stacy (not Stacey) and it’s also “palette” not “pallet.” Sorry it’s a pet peeve of mine when people misspell my name as well as palette 😔
