You’re pretty much spot on when you say they just stuck it in there until they get the actual displays in. I work at a Walmart and I am in the cosmetics section pretty often. The new make up comes in about a month or more earlier than the actual displays, usually so depending on the managers, they start putting it out because they don’t want it to just sit in the back for so long and take up space. Lol.

When my brother and I were abt the same age as your girls, our parents would pull us down hills in laundry baskets when it snowed, which was infrequently, hence the lack of sleds! Excellent DIY sleds!

Cara M. Large sheet pans are good for her girls since they are so small. Pool floats usually work for us. Plastic lids off storage containers work well too! We don't get snow in Florida either. Have to make something work for those rare times we see anything resembling snow.

Seems like the drugstore is really upping their game in certain products like brow gel, brow pencils, setting sprays, setting powders, mascara etc that purchasing those from Sephora brands is just throwing away your money. It was interesting to watch you work with such a colorful palette. I picked up a couple of very colorful palettes from indie brands over the holidays for mainly to use for Halloween/cosplay makeup but it would be nice to get use out of them the rest of the time too. Other than adding a pop of color to a neutral palette I wasn't sure how to utilize them. Now i have some ideas. I've seen both seasons of True Detective & am recording this season. We're so spoiled by Netflix & On Demand streaming now that we prefer to sit & watch several episodes in a row sometimes finishing an entire season in a weekend. We're just not into trying to remember & follow complicated plots week to week in real time anymore. Considering how many shows we are watching at any given time, it gets too confusing. So now we just wait & record the entire season before we watch anything :) or watch it On Demand.

Mine has a fairly large makeup section, but they don't put prices on anything! I hate that. And there are often empty displays because they don't restock frequently enough. People also open the nail polish and paint it on the shelves to see the color. They never seem to clean it off. It is starting to look like an art installation. LOL

If you want a really nice true red blush that gives the "been playing in the snow" look, try the Clinique pop in Cola Pop. It looks reddish brown in the pan but goes on a true red. I use it sparingly and it's easily built up for more intensity. For reference, I'm light - medium. 122 in Maybelline Fit Me. 125 is my Summer shade.

As someone who worked in retail setting planograms, January and July/August are notorious for new makeup sets, and they take FOREVER to reset, clean, and label. And the same 6 or 7 people who fix the cosmetics area reset the entire store, so sometimes it takes awhile to get around to it!

Usually this time of year every retailer is doing their makeup resets. Where things get changed around and products get changed out. Graphics get updated. I work at Walgreens and we are doing ours as well.

Just an "inside scoop" from Walmart. Chances are the new product was put into these spots because the new modular probably has not come down yet to tell where these items go and to get the pretty pictures and such. So they put new items in place of the old items or out of stock items they are not able to currently get in. That way at least the shelf space is being used to sell something and look less empty. They should have at least put a price tag out though if it is in a spot that it would be visible. I'm not on that side of the store but I'm guessing within the next few weeks these brands will get a refresh. And with the chaos of the winter storm (lots of people running out getting food in case they get snowed in), the people who would help set this may be over in grocery attempting to keep shelves stocked

Id love to go to your Walmart. My Walmart hardly ever gets new items, if it does, it sells out right away and then never restocks. We might get things in Fred Myers for an extra few dollars compared to Walmart and maybe Walgreens which is higher priced as well. I pretty much miss out on NEW products. Im sorry, sounds whinny, but I cant stand the mark up that all the Drugstores do, including Ulta compared to Walmart. Oh well, Im one person and seems like it wont ever change. I'm a bargain hunter, and let me tell you, you can get some amazing deals at Ulta. You just have to keep an eye out on their sale section online. Also, Ulta accepts manufacturer coupons stacked with their store coupons. I've found that Ulta usually ends up being cheaper than Walmart when it comes to cosmetics. Walgreens also offers a lot of amazing deals, but their sales tend to be online only. Just a few weeks ago, their whole site was 30% off, and you could still use coupons from their balance rewards card. I'm one of those people who won't pay full price for anything, and I've built my whole collection by shopping sales. ☺️ I hope you find these tips helpful.

The way you said the Neutrogena foundation sticks were just stuck in with the rest of the line happens at my Walmart sometimes! They did this with the amazing new Milani eyeshadow palettes when they first showed up--no price, no designated spot. They were just sitting there with the other Milani palettes. For LITERALLY 6 months until they finally put up the prices and labels. It was so strange! The only reason I noticed them was because I was looking for them after seeing so many positive reviews on KZbin. Found a lot of new Physician's Formula stuff in that way the last time I was at Walmart, too. That Neutrogena blush looks really pretty! The L'Oreal spray was at my Walmart on my last trip--it's funny how some stuff is released and shows up on shelves with ZERO fanfare, and then other stuff gets sent out to hundreds of people in PR. Such a mystery to me how they choose what stuff to promote heavily and what stuff to quietly slip into stores. Rimmel has really been SHOWING UP lately with eyeshadows. So many new options! I'd love to see you do another week of colorful eyeshadows like you did with one of your palettes last year. Maybe a "palette throwback" with the BH Cosmetics Weekend Festival palette since you've mentioned that one a few times on your channel?
