I did the same with my 18v polisher, I bought the 125mm backing pad to go with my 150mm. Great for the different range of pads in Oz. Also avoided the need to buy another polisher
@El_Savenok-mh7fq5 ай бұрын
Thanks for your reviews! After this one I definitely order 125mm one and add 150mm pad to it. I couldn't find 150mm sander and didn't know they're interchangeable. And buying two for me totally unnecessary. For now I still using old bo5031, love its reliability, but want to upgrade a little, especially after I switched to cordless vacuums.

40V random orbital sander? And here I am using a little Harbor Freight corded model 😂 This looks ridiculous in the best possible way 😊 I can’t even come up with an excuse to buy one, but I will think about it anyway
@Luke_de_Hoog5 ай бұрын
I reckon you could probably buy the 3mm offset drive and fit it to the 5mm sander (and vice versa) so you could have all four sanders in one.
@julianweiser99852 ай бұрын
The case is round on some models, square shaped on the others. Delta and Square probably work. The round ones just for different diameters.
@halogamerdude412 ай бұрын
from the looks of it on the parts diagrams the only actual difference in parts are the fans and upper and lower balancing weights. those "offset drives" have the same part numbers oddly enough.

Is it possible that the counterbalance inside the tool is a different weight to match the sanding pad? I noticed on my Milwaukee detail sander that if I had the sanding pad removed, it had way more vibration.

I have a fairly new corded festool sander. I like its extraction, performance and vibration dampening. I dislike the weight, ergonomics and you cant change the base plate. Should I try this?

I wish Makita would simplify their model numbers to focus on the actual tools, not every possible permutation of tool and bit/bar/pad/battery/etc. What's next? 50 different model numbers when you buy a impact driver with every permutation of cross/flat/pozi in every possible size?
@DaveGreeneramblingcarpenter15 күн бұрын
I've been really pleased with the xgt 190mm+270mm circular saws,planer also brilliant, little router ok, impact brilliant, sds breaker brilliant, was looking forward to the big router, and just discovered it's only got 60mm plunge capacity so its limited in what it can do, very disappointing, those Sanders look like they sand well, but the cord to the battery?, im not convinced, and it looks like you can't actually fit the battery in the tool, maybe im being pinickity, I can buy a far superior electric corded sander for half the cost

I had this sander in an online shopping cart and then I saw this video when it connected with 5m cable and vacuum. It just does not makes sense to me, the AC version should be just as good and it would not require AWS modules and Makita vacuum. The only issue that I don't know yet a good enough AC sander (e.g. less expensive than this Makita).

The 125 has a counter weight inside that matches the average weight of a 125mm pad with abrasive sheet. Once you swap the pad over to 150mm the counterweight is no longer of sufficient mass. So it will, as you experienced, be out of whack! Looking forward to try the delta! Great vids!

Great video tools. I would probably go for the 3rd sheet sander if they bring one out just for the lower cost of sand paper. Question are the 5 metre cords available in new Zealand from the merchants or do they have to be brought via ebay
