Good thing for Hockey. A new voice and probably a younger mindset. The game can only Benefit from having younger guys coming in. Good choice Leafs, hopefully it works out.

Pierre-Emmanuel Bois Younger guys are good but he needed to pay his dues first. He was rushed into being GM. Looks like a 16 yo high school kid. Who will follow this guys vision? Lol

John Tavares for one.
@sunileddu58476 жыл бұрын
He's going to be a good GM, he's been involved with the OHL since 17 and been an assistant Gm for the leafs since he was 25, and he's been mentored by one of the best GM's (LOU), so he'd be good. Also Chakaya who is younger than him is building up Arizona pretty well. So age is just a number.

It's time people start understanding that young execs just like young athletes are ready for the job and will outperform their predecessors. I'm sensing a certain amount of jealousy in the comments above. This guy was on many teams radar and will do a great job.

Landing Tavares was huge obviously. I thought when he traded down their number 1 pick a couple slots to get the extra 3rd rounder was pretty slick too. Small move but he obviously did his research thinking no other team was gonna pick up Sandin. So he gained an extra 3rd rounder just to get the exact player they were gonna pick up earlier. Small moves like that can add up. He is human he'll make some mistakes but hes obviously bright. Wish him all the best

This kid is already catching a lot of flack from fans ...as long as he sticks to the plan and does not trade multiple picks away for players that either underperform or strictly cannot handle playing in Toronto ( which is where our downfall has happened in previous gm’s) and draft then develop players through junior then the marlies and ultimately with the leafs they will be fine... he literally just won a Calder cup constructing this marlies team that will have pieces from it on the leafs for years to come... so ultimately... give this kid a chance Jesus Christ...

Leafs just went backwards, any one under this kid is not going to work happy. You have to have experience to know what to look for in players and you need to have relationships with the other GM'S. This kids been fed on a golden spoon and only got this far from his parents money. This would not of happened if he came from a poor family. How many GM'S have we seen fired too early, just to have the next GM take credit for their work in the next season.
@tx9mdy6536 жыл бұрын
Martyn B the thing is that the leafs are generally young, there's probably only 5 players older than him so he's still the most experienced really, and a young team with a young GM could work quite well, it comes down to if he can prove himself
