hey guys in many comments it said to sharpen the liner when the liner runs out but instead pull the cap off from the bottom and use a q tip to push the product upwards, please don’t sharpen the liner :)

It's such a hassle. It's crazy. I tried to sharpen once but that didn't work...I pop off the botton and push with a thin metal tool but ridiculously messy....

I put my gel liners in the freezer for about 15-20 minutes then sharpen them while they’re still cold.

This eyeliner is awesome. I struggle with the fact you can actually sharpen it to get more of the product. I did not know the plastic outside would be able to get sharpen. I choose the 900 deep onyx to get the beautiful natural color of black eyeliner. The color goes well with my natural beauty.

this is the shittest eyeliner its not water proof or smudge proof and it ends up all over your eye lid and it drops bits of crap all over everywhere but where you want it! plus it wrecks and clogs up your sharpener!! when you sharpen all the gel crap!! and it wont work anyway!!

You use the large hole in your sharpener to remove the plastic. Underneath that is wood, use small hole in sharpener to finely sharpen wood and pen point. Your welcome. :)

Dont use a pencil sharpener. Take off the bottom. Then use a q-tip to push the lead up a tiny way. The end you removed can actually shape the soft tip to a point without waste. Try it! Better yet, try Avon Glimmerstick eyepencil. You twist the stem to raise the liner. No sharpener needed. Comes in matt and shimmer shades.

Hi, I just want to say first off, how pretty you are and your make up. Secondly, I have been having a hard time finding the right eyeliner for myself. It finally came down to 2; Maybelline TattooStudio Waterproof, Long Wearing, Eyeliner Pencil Makeup, and wet n wild Mega Last Breakup-Proof Retractable Eyeliner. This pencil is easy to sharpen ( use your own and don't push it in hard) and it lines so nicely . That's my positive on this . This pencil clogs the oil glands of the eye where the hair follicle and surrounding tissue are concerned. I clean my pencil with a little alcohol and always cover it after using. But I winded up with two styes on one eye. I am in discomfort , pain and yet to see when the stye will drain . This is the price we pay for beauty.

Hi! I have sensitive eyes so was not able to wear this on the waterline due to the chemicals. It only stayed on about 10 min before washing off. Also my eyes watered tons while wearing it. My eyes are super watery too, so I recommend trying all natural waterproof specifically for the waterline. Hope this helps!

Your makeup, Ashley, is beautiful. However, I'm here to bash the Tattoo gel pencil liner. I bought it too. It doesn't last and it certainly doesn't last 36 hours. It is hard to put on the eye. It comes off with just your finger. It's not like they advertise on TV. Not waterproof either. I had to figure out how to sharpen it!! I was very disappointed. I'm writing Maybelline.

agree i end up with it all over my top eyelid its a smudgy mess and she hasn't given a true review of it she has other products on and hasn't reviewed it after a few hours! I have been wearing this for the last few months and sick of the smudgy cakey mess it leaves on and around my eyes! I wan/t to write to Maybelline as well plus it breaks and if you do sharpen it it destroys your eye pencil sharpener!! if you try and push it up its simply backs up in the end of it and clumps all over the Qtip! it can't be pushed up without losing most of the product anyway ! this is the worst eye liner i have ever used going to chuk it in the bin!! sick of the bloody mess it leaves all over my eyes and definitely wont last hours not without leaving a disgusting mess all over your eyes!

I wish I had read all these reviews prior to buying. Used it once and could not for the life of me figure out how to get the rest of the product out. I didn't think I could sharpen the plastic without ruining a pencil sharpener. I ended up having to take the back cap off and I pushed a qtip and the lead started to come out. I'm also in Texas and wondering about it running down my face. boo

It took me ages to figure out the bottom comes off and you can push it up. The bottom is even meant as a tool to gently sharpen the tip to a point. I did once use a sharpener and split the pencil. Oops!
