Purchased a 23 plate CX60 Homura recently in black with 360 cameras and privacy pack, the presence looks sinister and a very good looking! The style is unique there are one or two I’ve seen on the road, many other Mazda owners driving the CX5 tend to double take what has gone past them. Having reached the 1K mile mark, I find the drive lovely very smooth in normal mode, the transition between EV to Sport mode I’m unsure where these motoring journalists are coming from saying there is delayed reaction I’ve seen. Switching is easy, Sport Mode is very quick and a lovely rasp from the exhausts my only critique would be I’d contemplate getting a set of brembos all round the added value is that it’s Awd and sits firmly on the tarmac! UK road network with its endless potholes you do feel in the suspension. The entertainment system easy to use however one small snag is when Spotify is playing through wireless is that you can’t change tracks! Visibility all round good, I really love this car it’s come along way from the previous CX5 - the battery on full charge 39 miles and if you drop to below 10 miles of charge you can lock the charge work on petrol and regenerate the battery on a longer journey to replenish full charge useful for 327bhp sport mode to kick down! A few German marks have been left in the rear mirror! Be different go and buy yourself one

Coming from a previous-gen GLC and having driven a loaner CX-60 last week, I strongly beg to differ there. A spontaneous lane change to catch a highway exit gave me an adrenaline rush like I haven't had in a long time, for a second or two the chance of my first rollover accident seemed not so low anymore. That same situation in the GLC wouldn't even register in memory right now. In retrospect, yeah, the Mazda most probably wasn't anywhere close to becoming uncontrollable or anything, but it was shocking nonetheless.

I have had the CX60 since September. Homura model in red. The top of the range with white leather wasn't for me. I have found out some interesting extras that don't seem to be mentioned by professional reviewers. Through the MyMazda phone app I can set the climate to come on, and the windscreen to defrost, also can set a destination for the satnav on my phone and send it to the car. App even shows the current tyre pressures. Only done 600 miles so far, and that is nearly all short journeys, so have bought very little petrol. Mazda quote 188 MPG. Don't think so! According to the dash info I have been getting between 88 to 100 MPG. Mazda also quote 39 miles just on electric. Charged to 100%, dash shows around 30 miles range. I have been guilty of showing off a couple of times, and have selected Sport mode. Accelerates nicely with both engine and electric in operation. I had the CX5 before, and loved it, but the CX60 is perfect for my needs. A nice lady even warns me of speed cameras.

Still very pleased with it though.

Thanks for your owners review. Do you get 30 elec miles with the heating / ac on (hvac)? Or is that before you switch them on? I used to own a Mitsu Outlander Phev that would say 28 miles full charged and then as soon as you put the hvac on it say 23 or 24 miles. If you compare the CX 60 to 3 series or 5 series it will fail. But to be honest it lives up to the X3 as well as the X5 ( I am comparing the plug in hybrid not the diesel or petrol engines) driving experience they are the same, no difference. Now put a trailer on and it’s different. The CX 60 actually is much more smooth with a trailer on than even the X5. And I know cause I drive them with a horse trailer and when driving with a horse how smooth you drive makes a huge difference. - but that’s just my opinion 😊

I test-drove the diesel version of this car yesterday. The power, interior design, and exterior appearance are impressive. It felt great driving on flat roads. However, the road noise was quite loud when driving over coarse chip at speed. It's not a quiet highway cruiser; instead, it's loud and boomy. The suspension feels cheap and doesn't effectively absorb bumps or road imperfections. Additionally, there was a small rattle in the dashboard. Overall, I would not recommend this car yet, but I'd like to one day, after Mazda do the engineering properly, and address the asking price. Its unresolved.

So most of them will continiue to choose an absolute MQB econobox like Audi Q3 to this because of its badge. Best example to this is Alfa Giulia and Stelvio, both of them build by true car engineers to true car people while spending billions to a masterpiece RWD platform and both of them crashed in sales very badly. Because they don't have the right "german premium" badge. Welcome to insanely shallow world of todays auto industry. And Mazda is doomed as well. i really like the car, i ve driven it and the phev engine is a powerhouse, but there are 3 aspects of the cars, which are terrible...the suspension... it's extremely firm, 0 comfort it's 0 sporty 0 comfy just a mess, but at least mazda acknowledged that and will deliver a new suspension for 2023...but why not from the start, how can such a brand release such a terrible suspension, i dont get it, next terrible thing is the gearbox, especially when the hybrid system switches between coasting, ev and hybrid mode, smooth is the opposite of that...that needs a lot of refinement! and third the leather quality of the takumi, after 4.000km the leather was in a worse condition than the leather of my 20 year old mercedes with 300.000km i mean that has nothing to do with premium nappa leather...well i dislike the broad middle console it eats a lot of legroom, the panoramic sunroof looks great but opens only 10cm, which is kind of a joke, apart from that great car, i love the infotainment, bose soundsystem is decent, but as i said a lot of refinement is needed.

Mazda CX 60 is not a rival or an alternative to BMW or Ausi or Volvo. I'ts just a MAZDA ! An inginier brand with elegance, originality and personality. No car looks like the front of this CX 60, with it's long, very long front. There are no critics able to bring down that car , even if the concurence is afraid about that machine.

3.3 litre 6 cyl diesel? In 2022? Madness.

Why? Nothing wrong with that at all.

You nailed it on Mazda are classy looking have quality interiors and reliable and handle well. Whereas the Germans overprice put goofy grills on and cost too much to repair, which is going to be more often.

I had a 2012 cx9 other than the wind noise while driving on highway i loved that car so-much kept it tor 12 years, i like the newer version cx9 looks but it’s much smaller than the one i had so didnt consider. My mother has a CX5 and her infotainment system is good but my Q7 touchscreen is way better! If possible i will always buy a car with something comparably moving forward, easy to use and love that i can use most while driving

Unfortunately you can't get the cx9 here in the UK. They've only just introduced this one here.
