What I don't like is that Mercedes uses the same steering wheel and dashboard for all their models. It doesn't matter which Mercedes you buy, the interior is almost the same on all cars. And that's what you're looking at when you drive such a car.

Well the vents and the leather design is better in this. But I agree I dont want my SL to look like a C Class... Mercedes leadership really lost it. They make one mistake after the other. And honestly I am sure this will have an effect on the sales numbers.

They slapped Maybach logos, chrome, and a bit more leather on an SL and get to charge more for it. A shame compared to the bespoke Maybach cars of the early 2000’s. Also who told them putting logos everywhere would make this luxurious? Compared to a Rolls or Bentley, this is simply lacking refinement and taste.

DEI hires wreak havoc. That car looks like it would be "ok" for the Maybach division head, kind of like a McDonald's uniform for McDonald's employees. Whenever they get around to putting a "superscreen" or "hyperscreen" into their 63's, looking like it came with the car and weren't just some kid's tablet they glued on at the last stage in the assembly line, I'll probably get one: the M178 is supposed to be a great engine, and the mechanical quality + luxury of Mercedes is really very hard to beat. But if I were given the car in this video, I'd get it painted something other than Harlot Red, and dump the "Company First" conceit logos. Yuck! Maybe they figure most buyers will do that.

I have to say compared to the S650 Maybach Cabriolet this is a disappointment. And those also dont depreciate. I dont think this will be the case with this. You need to replace your CEO one mistake after the other. Why Mercedes ? Who is responsible for the lackluster performance recently. All decisions Mercedes takes recently are questionable. The G Class has been spared sofar but just a matter of time.

The interior looks cheap. Especially the steering wheel (from a C-Class) with cheap plastic touch buttons. They should have put the previous generation steering wheel which I belive the buttons were aluminium, and better quality. Oh and why the rag top? Why not put a metal or carbon fibre roof.
