The older gen s class was a s class. This is sort of, an a8 or a 7 series competitor. Feels as if, someone urged mercedes to upgrade the s class. And meanwhile mercedes just had to have a car at this price point. This time, their priority was not building a masterpiece, rather just to make its presence felt in this segment So that they couldn't be called laid back. How well this car is goin' to age in people's minds, only time will tell. The old s class aged masterfully if you really understand what i mean by the word age, right here. It's timeless. This new s class in 2020, is nearly not what the older s class's were, in its respective years of launch.. Just my opinion.

They have to update and compete, but they are still trying to find that new identity. This will still set trends and do great numbers, and opinion will change over time of this design. The whole lineup has been in a weird transitional phase for past 10 years. The W212 started this new obsession they have to try and be sporty and, for better or worse, they are changing the image you associate with Mercedes. 8 SUVs, AMG models everywhere, making hot hatchbacks, etc. They know their base of customers aren't the same as it was 20 years ago, especially for the S class. They have to update and compete, but they are still trying to find that new identity. This will still set trends and do great numbers, and opinion will change over time of this design. We will have to check back in like 5 or 10 years to truly understand the impact this car will have on Mercedes
@adiliqbal9834 жыл бұрын
Agree - All shapes have been taking each others parts, all new shapes have the old S class wide dash panel now so the current w222 lost its charm. The w223 with a complete new dash is great but the exterior needs to be signature for an asking price always above 100k for a decent spec'd out car.

Lamborghini's second-largest customer is also china. BTW chinese people pay a heavy tax on luxury cars. A 60k car in the US would be about 90-110k Car there.

@Tommy Guo Guangxu Yes, a little less than 30 percent of Chinese citizens are poor and living in Villages or riding scooters in cities. However, the other 70 percent which is about 900 Million people, are middle classes citizens living in cities and owning houses and cars. I would advise you visite China after COVID dies down. You would see the sea of differances. China ranks 44 in worlds wealth per adult, Africa ranks 85. Africa is actually getting help from chinese investment. I would also advise you do some reasearch before spitting out your thoughts. Please back them up with evidence. Thanks.

Bejing actually built a new airport called Beijing Daxing International Airport, its a beautiful airport. You can search up some pirctures. They say that its going to be the worlds busiest airport. Right now the busiest its Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International, close to where I live. :) US takes China serious because of their economic power, not their military power (China has the words largest army). Its their low-cost goods that enable income-constrained American consumers to make ends meet. Also, now Artificial Intelligence.

baber khan well, say for example you‘re working for a big company in a directing position and you can chose from any car you want at around 120,000€ (yearly salary taken as an example) along with a chauffeur, then this is your car. Luxurious and comfortable. Not sporty, coz you don’t need that, yet still in the price range and just enough to get the looks. Sure it doesn’t have the same rarity as cars from other sports car brands, but it is still an S Class, which is the best of the best if you compare between Audi, BMW and Mercedes.

They probably realised that instead of spending hundreds on designing and manufacturing all the knobs and switches from good quality metals they can just slap a tablet they bought from a chinese manufacturer for 20 bucks and call it "futuristic" or something.

That screen in front of the driver looks hideous, I rather have normal gauges or virtual cockpit than iPad showing me the speed im going.

I was a bit disappointed when I realized that I bought my new E-class 1 month before the new "facelift". Well, now I'm happy I still have the old looks. Buy an S/E/C-class and have people think it's an A-class. There's been several times I've looked two times at the new design for E-class just to realize it actually was an A-class - and now this S-class looking the same. Where did innovation go?. 👎🏻

I said it before and I'm going to say it again, there's definitely a new designer at Mercedes, and they are messing things up.
@Fal-9114 жыл бұрын
The A class is the best Mercedes right now when it comes to the look!
@LucasMartins-qf6mu4 жыл бұрын
Indeed! All the other mercedes cars are kind of trying to copy the A, without having a proper identity.
