I love trekking through there. I park the car on the side of the highway and walk far into the lava rocks.

I tried to do that, congrats because i found it very difficult.

Entirely different than Valley of Fire in Nevada. But very interesting , considering your input of info.

LOL yes I did some baking during the holidays which gave me the idea- this area is a lot different than Glacier and Yellowstone- more interesting the beautiful. Lots of human history. This lava field was just on the way north so I thought I'd include it in the show.

Thank you for your videos! My family and I are planning a road trip to include this area of the US on our way to Glacier National Park from Southern California and your videos, like this one, are guiding us along our planning adventure. Looking forward to the next installments!

Thanks. The next will be at least a week off. If you’re going to Glacier you should really watch my videos of that place it’s my favorite place. The videos will be very helpful.

If you're going from Southern Cal to Glacier NP and you intend to stop by VOF you may want to see my other post re your stop. There are two versions of VOF, one in NM (above), and another one in Nevada.
@TheWestisBig2 жыл бұрын
Yes, the 2 r sim ilarly named. The Nevada one is singular the New Mexico one is plural. I thought about calling attention to this fact as I’ve been to both. I’ll do another version mentioning the difference.

Let me make a clarification to avoid maybe a bit of confusion. When many people hear "Valley of Fire" they often think of the park in Nevada less than an hour away from Las Vegas. Many movie scenes are set there because of its other worldly landscape. The rocks are red as if they are ablaze. It is probably the more popular of the VOF although that doesn't make it "better." So when people are planning their trip in the west please make sure which version you are going to (NM or NV), or better yet do them BOTH! The NM version is "Fires" instead of "Fire" in NV. You can KZbin it also.
@TheWestisBig2 жыл бұрын
Yes, this is correct. I’ve been to both but didn’t think I needed to call attention to the diff as they are so far apart. I will make an update mentioning both.

@@TheWestisBig >Cool! I mentioned it because there was one YT channel that took us on a tour of the NV version, but gave viewers the directions on how to get there going to the the NM version! You were seeing NV on camera, but going to NM to enjoy it for yourself. Oops! Someone from say Europe may write down the wrong park when they may have meant the other one. Imagine if at the end of your video you told everyone where to stay in Las Vegas! Ha, ha! Thanx.
