great video guys, I'm looking forward to getting hands on these at work too, especially for the teams' call benefits, but the benefits for heavy data workloads are really exciting, and especially for protecting said data. though we only just got the 9's so it might be a while given our replacement cycle :( hope they will build some of this into the new Surface Hubs, so often we see them put in rooms that just aren't suited for them

Well rugged up there for a Queenslander Mat!! I still have an Acorn RiscPC in the garage - with an ARM processor - I believe Intel have sunk (invested) quite a bit into the company now. Even back in 1986 - the pure processing power and speed of a reduced instruction set processor made a huge difference, anti-aliased typefaces, responsive gui etc. Exciting development!

Do you recommend this surface pro 9 or 8 for an architect who uses AutoCAD and office in their full version on the construction sites?? The ocasional site drawing, plans visualization and either excel or PowerPoint reports

It's been a long time since I've used AutoCAD. So I'm not really sure what the basic requirements would be. I suspect it would still depend on the complexity of drawings that you need to review. Excel or PowerPoint would be no problem for any of them. But the new model would be better on all fronts.

Like the overwhelming majority of people, I mostly use Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. I also use Statistical software, so not sure if any of this really matters.

Agreed. A vast number of people rely on Word (Est 1983), Excel (Est 1985) and PowerPoint (Est 1987). Mainly because computer training stopped in its tracks at Y2K. So we're all doing 40 year old things with 40 year old software! 😜However, many people began video calling in 2020. Video calling only really became widely possible in the mid 2000s, after we stopped doing computer training. But, thanks to a pandemic (not a brilliant way to get people to adopt important tech 😟), video calling is now a part of daily workflow for office workers, and it is a multi-modal application - Keyboard, Mouse, Microphone and Camera are required. This will benefit hugely from NPU - on the video and sound front. So feel free to take it from me, this stuff matters!
