If memory serves me correctly, a standard corded skil saw is around 14.5 pounds and the mag 77 is a little over 12.5 pounds. So this hit right in the middle which is pretty good since the DeWalt cordless felt heavier than the corded skil. Even with the extra heft, the time saved by not rolling out or relocating a cord or hose makes these cordless tools total game changers. As long as the weight is distributed properly it has little effect on usability. FYI for the uninitiated the rafter hook we call a sky hook and the “base plate” we call the table in the field. The notch in the blade wrench served two functions, one as stated to unscrew the brushes for cleaning or replacement and it also can break the diamond center out of the blades when required.

Hey Vince as a physics guy the hole is there to provide more suction at the point of entry for the dust. Think of it like an air vent in your plumbing. Air is going to take the path of least resistance so the air channel is going through the house, the dust moving through isn't going to want to escape that path because it would take more energy to exit the air channel than just follow it (eventually ending up inside the vacuum). Great video, love how you test tools.

They should have it closed instead.. So unlike the right side circular saw where dust isn't blowing on you... i will tell you this... with this worm style circular saw and the way Milwaukee outfitted it's dust port.... dust will surely be blowing on you....With that said i still have no regrets with adding this beast to my line of milwaukee tools.

dust collection never really gets all the dust, just keeps it down so cleanup isn't so bad. It seems to do as good as if it was corded. I like worm drives they seen to allow for more control and straighter cuts. Probably most because of the change in leverage points when operating them.

Look at that baby face 2 years ago... I love my 2830-20 saw. It works awesome. I hate the damn cord getting in the way on my old circular saw. How many of you guys have a taped cord on your circular saw? I always wondered why my dads had electrical tape on the cord. This saw is a damn good tool. No cord to get in the way!!!!!! I started out with the 5 XD battery. It is lighter than the 6 amp hour and 8 amp hour batteries. With the 5 XD battery, it last a long time in this saw. You don't need the 12 amp hour battery for use in this saw. It's a heavy beast!!!! Saw with blade weighs 10.4 pounds and 12 amp hour batter weighs 3.3 pounds. That is 13.7 pounds total. I like running mine with the 5XD and single hand on ply wood, peg board, 2x4's, 2x6's etc... This saw cuts straight effortlessly and the light works great. Milwaukee hit it out of the park with this one..

@JasonLee-qj8ts5 жыл бұрын
the early evidence from other reviewers is not good with the 3.0s.. thermal shutdown etc... the 6.0 HO is probably going to be the lightest HO battery to push this blade with confidence. In fact I found in one comment where some people thought the 6.0 HO would have more grunt than the 12.0 since a smaller capacity cell (not size) was used and as such would favor peak discharge over the 12.0 HO which uses a max capacity cell. I think you might find that a 6.0 HO could win a side by side rip time test against a 12.0 HO.

I'm curious why the run time on this saw is listed as 570 cuts per charge when last years 2732 model is rated at 750 cuts per charge with the same battery and what appears to be the same motor. I have the 2732 and have been happy with it, I would prefer a left line of sight saw but have gotten used to using sidewinder style right line of sight saws and don't think I would purchase this one especially if its rated run time is a lot lower. The dust collection seems to work about the same as the 2732 and the table saw, which is to say not very well but definitely better than nothing. I think Milwaukee missed the boat by not expanding onekey functionality to allow a hypothetical onekey vacuum to wirelessly link to any onekey tool and auto start/stop the vacuum when the tool is being used.
