Love to see this coming along! I saw an electrical multitool at advanced auto a few days ago and thought about trying to Frankenstein something together with a Gerber Truss or smth. May have to run back!

I bought the Performance Tool 13-in-1 Electrician's Multi-Tool a few years ago and wondered why Leatherman hadn't made a higher quality multi-tool with the electrician tools. I do like the spring loaded action though.

If the steel/heat treat on those swappable multi-head pliers tool was better, that system would be perfect for something like this. Maybe something like those Dewalt/Stanley compound-action type pliers; strip off the handles, get 2 of those swisstech/daicampingm, half a surge clone thingies and make an absolute chonker of a multitool.

Leatherman is dumb for not making one. Wasn't that the point of the company to make tools for certain jobs. When my dad got me the wave when i was 18 he had no idea it was made for linemen.

They, like all other companies are afraid of the law suits. Multitools do not have insulated handles, as soon as another idiot uses a tool that has "Electrician " in the name to cut live wire and gets hurt, law suits and safety commitee checks start pouring in.

Hvac...when are you going to start your multitool company? You have a better finger on the pulse than the current manufacturers. Wish I got the squirt es4 while I could. I've got the klein. Definitely a chunky tool. It's pretty good though. The knife is the biggest thickest blade I've seen on a mt. Also just curious what you were describing with the funny bit thing you put in the 1/4" holder and blade. A compass? To draw circles? You didn't actually say.
