People always like to hate on the horsepower. I don’t own a mirage but in my old Toyota pickup with 109hp, which obviously weighs more than a mirage, it has no trouble keeping up with modern traffic and going 75mph down the interstate. I’m sure the mirage is more than enough for what it is. No frills commuter car. Great mileage

I pass people in my mirage cvt all the time. You have to not be afraid to floor it and know when to use "sport" mode. Most of the power is in the higher rev range which is why most people dont like that

In Europe, at least in my region, it's price start's at 9.000 euros or something more. For that price you can't argue about it's interior or how it looks. It's a city car that will take you from one to another place without a problem. It's a decent car for it's price but there are better.

I drove the last Space Star ( a 2004 1.6) and I think it was far way better than this car. Not only for engine but for the interior space or the quality of its inside....good test Joe, as always...;)

I have the mirage and this thing is ok. it sips fuel and drives pretty smooth. cabin noise isnt the best though, its like the doors dont seal properly so you hear whistling all the time on the freeway

I”ll do it for you, everything is super light, steering has no feeling, clutch has no feeling, changing gears feel like stirring in a bowl of soup, suspension is comfy but cornering is terrible (also due fact that there are very narrow tires mounted). The 1.2 3-cylinder is ok and has good fuel economy.

@@jvdg96 wow. I didnt think it was that bad. I was impressed with the gearbox and around town acceleration wasnt bad. From a start, it feels like a small 4 cyl taking off. Clutch was easy to work with.

Having owned and commuted in a 2014 Mirage for 4yrs, I agree that the steering is too light and has no road feel, the suspension is comfy but cornering is terrible. I can't comment on the feel of the manual since my Mirage had the CVT. I'll add that it is incredibly noisy inside. Engine, wind, and tire noise. If you push the engine hard regularly, you're going to see worse economy than some larger, more powerful cars that don't work as hard. I averaged 40-41 mpg on my work commute driving it gingerly. My prior 2012 Nissan Versa was larger, heavier, and had 106hp (compared to Mirage's 74hp) and was capable of the exact same mileage on the same drive. It was also far nicer to live with. Smoother and quieter.

I did not expected to see ancient slightly facelifted Mitsubishi Mirage, it may be my weak memory but i remember Space Star's being really cool sort of early crossovers/MPVs back in the day. US versions of the Mirage(pre facelift) both hatch and sedan are garbage, Toyota Yaris(aka Mazda2), Honda Fit(Jazz?) and even Chevy Spark are better in every way while costing the same or not much more

Mitsubishi will still try to over sell you on the cheapest model like the ES Model which cost $13,999 but the actual price is $7,999. So after financing it will be $18,999. Just go buy a Hyundai Elentra or Corolla. Don't pay over $13,999
